Of course, if Pyro actually DID run away with Bobby it'd get awfully dull awfully fast. Schizo psychopath and closeted boy scout just doesn't work without a lot of external pressures to play off of. It's why Batman/Superman slashfic never works for me.

That said, I can see Pyro growing a pair and walking away from the brotherhood. The problem is then you wouldn't get to RP with anybody. Lonely, lonely John.

Incidentally, I'm really enjoying how intense that scene is getting while still remaining nominally subtext. (If this were a movie scene, the temptation to shout "Kiss him, you fool!" from the seats would be enormous.) I wonder how much further we can keep that going... (mm? challenge? well, OK, now that you mention it).

Also incidentally, am I the only one seeing Bobby/John recapitulating the young Charles/Eric? I didn't quite intend for Bobby to become Xavier, Jr. but he does seem to be trending in that direction.

And loosely connected, but worth mentioning - John/Bobby/Rogue = Logan/Scott/Jean Jr? Bryan Singer thought so (though he cut all the Ryro scenes from X2, sob)
