I have the feeling that a lot of us watch Heroes... discussion time!
-Does anyone else think that Matt and Suresh have more lover's spats than the rest of the married cast combined?
-West... are there any ulterior motives there? I hope not... he's adorable! I was thinking of switching Josh's avatar to him, since it's so hard to find actual pictures of the current one.
-The Hiro storyline is surprisingly boring right now, as are Peter's adventures with the Irish people. Right now the Claire/West stuff and Micah is really what I'm enjoying. Matt and Suresh are always good for a laugh...
Oh, and Dania Ramirez (Maya?) - WORST POWER EVER.

There are worse powers, but their havers don't tend to survive. My favorite remains Cannonball's flight power, without the force-field.
The Hiro thing is being sweet but one-note.
My prediction: West is going to turn out to be Nathan's son -- hence the shared power. Which makes him and Claire half-siblings, right?

Aaaah! Incest! I don't know if they'd do that, especially since they've been showing the two of them getting rather attached to each other. I mean... that sends West/Claire from "Awww!" to "Uhhhh..." Yeah, the Hiro story isn't actually bad, I guess I just really enjoy some of the other stuff going on. Sending messages to Ando through time is pretty awesome. Oh, and Josh and Warren definitely have to have a date on a high building at some point.

I find West very, very annoying actually. Like, he's pretty, and when he and Claire are being romantic it's cute, but other than that he comes off as every annoying guy who was "one of the individuals" in high school. I expect him to drive Claire away by yelling about how she just doesn't get his music or communism or whatever.
Also if he was a Petrelli that would make Nathan the biggest manwhore ever. I mean, how many illegitimate kids can one guy have? Maybe that's the secret- all the new characters are secretly Nathan's kids!
Hiro is always cute but boring to me.
My friends and I say "Molly Has Two Daddies" at least once an ep. and laugh at their spats.
I enjoy the Peter story-line because he is frequently half-naked and they actually used the correct spelling of my name for Caitlin I think. So many horrendous versions they could have strayed to. Also it is fun to offer things to people and say "This is the ___ with your identity in it!" in an Irish accent that resembles no Cork accent ever.

Aw, I like West! He's cute. And once he actually found someone who wasn't a plastic clone he stopped being all whiny. But I do know where you're coming from.
Thank goodness Nathan got rid of the beard, because that scene at the gate of the prep school had me expecting him to offer the kids some candy and a ride in his car.
I found myself shouting 'open the box!' during Peter's scene with the fake-Irish girl... (my friends and I call them the fake-Irish, for whatever reason.)

I like West too! He's cute, and less of an ass now that he has a girlfriend. That was probably all he needed: to get laid. The Irish chick bugs me, but Peter is look down right spicy since he got that haircut. I second the whole Nathan's-removal-of-the-beard notion, though I disagree with the pedophile remark. They're his own kids! Gaaaah! I hope Sylar eats the Spanish peoples' braaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiins! Because they're annoying! I love the Hiro parts, but only for the sexy Takenzo Kensei/British immortal dude. He's so cute! Eeee! The new chick in New Orleans is sooooooooooo Taskmaster! Tasky! Weeeeeee! Uhura! Yay! Now we just need William Shatner and Leonard Nemoy and we'll have a Star Trek reunion! Oh, and Josh...

Re: West... I sorta feel for the guy, actually. I mean, sure, the writers are definitely playing on the “I’m a unique individual, unlike the rest of you” trope, and I’m with Laurie on that being one of the most annoying things ever IRL, but I’m inclined to cut him some slack given that he can fly and she’s the first person he’s met who showed any interest at all in humans with superpowers.
Re: “Date on high building”... check. We never did get around to the Eiffel Tower, what with all the pesky getting shot at. Is a repeat birthday dinner in the works? Or has Jorren just written off all of France at this point?
Re: "Manwhore"... well, maybe. But I wouldn't put it past his mom to shop his sperm around without his consent to create a whole new generation of superpowered Petrelli offspring. Come to that, I wouldn't put it past her to have arranged for Claire's conception in the first place. She's clearly got a whole master-race thing going on.
Re: going from "aww..." to "uuuh..." -- well, yes, that would be the point. We all know that TV relationships lose their interest when consummated, so they have to keep the tension going somehow. So, either West turns out to be a spy, or he dies, or Claire has to leave town, or something like that. I think "it turns out they're step-siblings and ew!" would at least be novel. They could stay friends. Maybe next season they could discover that actually it's not true.

I think I'm going to cry... Sources confirm that [“Heroes”] is going back and shooting an alternate ending to the Dec. 3 episode that, if used, would allow the episode to function as a season finale in the event of a strike. Originally, the episode was only supposed to serve as the conclusion of the current "Generations" arc. Should an 11th-hour agreement be reached and a strike averted (fingers crossed!), the alt ending would likely be scrapped.

Well, I heard that the episode was supposed to be the end of the current 'book', so they're just modifying it a bit to provide some better closure... it's not the end of the world. Also, networks are going to cave. I mean, I heard that stuff like 'The View' and Leno, Conan, Letterman, etc, are all out of scripts because they depend on news coverage. Heroes is lucky that they're able to finish out through December. Lord knows we're all going to die without The View.

So....
What did everyone think?
I was practically chanting for Peter to die throughout the entire episode... they really wrote him like a big sheep at the end of this arc. Everyone you know telling you that your new friend is lying to you? And you ignore them? Jeez.
Though I've gotta say that Suresh probably deserves the Volume II Darwin Award. Or the 'Should-Have-Darwined'.

The entire series is starting to depend on people being stupid for its plot to move on, and it pisses me off. (Gee! My brother says my new best friend is lying to me! If only I had some way of finding out what both of them are really thinking!) And this season has pretty much ended exactly where last season did, which is dumb. They need to go somewhere... with plot, with characterization, with SOMETHING.

Yeah this season...not so great. It's like "Hey it was sometimes hard to give everyone depth before...let's add MORE CHARACTERS!" And then most of them sucked except Elle who rocked because Kristin Bell can do anything. Maya was (is unfortunately ugh) a joke, Alejandro could have been interesting I maintain. Adam was okay only because I choose to believe his evil was not about Hiro or the chick (because every time travel escapade needs anachronistically spunky love interest!) but about being alive for four hundred years and being generally craaaazy. And, West, come on you guys, does anyone still like West? I will fight you all, at once, with my bare hands and win on the force of my righteousness combating his taint of SUCK.
I don't care what Peter did this season except he took off his shirt in like every episode and cut off the damn emo-fringe. I did grow to love the emo-fringe once but then West came like a prophecy of doom to show me what tolerance of emo-ish hair could lead to. So y'all can just shhh about Peter, he was busy figuring out ways to plausibly get naked, he had no time for mind reading.

Here, here for sadness on talking about Maya in the present tense.
Oh... I still like West. I think he was definitely a bit creepy at time, but he definitely was genuinely interested in Claire. And I really enjoyed the episode where he and HRG worked together to try to save Claire. However, their breakup was totally contrived.
West: I don't think you should go public with your abilities. Claire: But you said we're special, and I love you! West: Don't go public. Claire: HATEYOU DIE.
I mean... srsly. Ah, well. He was cute while it lasted.
I also agree with your hypothesis about Peter's lack of shirt interfering with higher mental functions. I'm also really glad the Irish girl's gone... hopefully she's gonegone. This was a season of Peter locking onto random side characters and pretending they were like his BFFs. Ugh.

Humm, I've actually been watching it this season. Last time I lost interest half-through for whatever reason (took too long to get into the action I suppose, and since it was new I didn't know what to expect and that waiting around for it to get good was a good idea). And for some reason I feel highly inclined to actually post something like opinions and thoughts and things on it right now... whee. Suresh is pretty much made of squeeworthiness and awesome. Not having powers doesn't make him any less win than the others, and he's totally my favorite. ;D I was actually sad when he ended up shooting what's-his-face, more because it was HIM shooting than that the guy was shot (because I honestly DON'T CARE about that side of the story AT ALL. Ew), because, aww, he was all "nooo, killing is bad!" before! But yes. Win. <3 Peter bothered me somehow also, which made me sad 'cause when I first started watching I liked him best. Now he's just annoying and naive and overpowered and doesn't really do much of anything until, oops, time to save the day from something he had a hand in getting started anyway! Meh. Didn't want him to die, though, really, just stop acting annoying. It's funny, I was almost glad when they shot Maya (granted, I half expected him to miss and hit Molly, so there was partly relief in that gladness). And then she's alive again. Bah. Their whole arc just feels so ...random. Like it has nothing to do with anything whatsoever... One thing about Maya's brother was in the beginning episodes I could have sworn he spoke English. SWORN. But then after the first three appearances or whatever, he was having her translate everything, and didn't understand English anymore, and what'd he do, FORGET the language?! Or maybe I'm wrong on that? Anyone else notice it, or is my brain making things up again..? >.>;
