Bobby nods. "Yeah, I know what you mean. I guess I can't blame them, though, with our casualty rate what it is." In a weird way, he's relieved that it's not just him. Maybe he hasn't made an unrecoverable mess of all this, after all.
He blinks in surprise as Kitty's arm goes through the wall, then instinctively reaches out to catch her, his hand passing through her arm. "Heh. Still practicing, huh?" he comments as she recovers her balance. "Cool." Bobby remembers when he was still eager enough to just practice using his powers in the hall, for no reason but the fun of it. That feels like a whole different kid, though.
> Regardless of how much of a pain he was, I still miss him
Bobby nods again, more seriously. "Yeah... I know what you mean. He's..." he trails off slowly, not having any idea how he intended to end that sentence.
"You could drop him an email, if you wanted. I mean, he'd probably tell you to go to hell, but..." he shrugs, not sure this is at all a good idea, and finishes lamely "...well, you could."

"An email? I don't have his address. I would like to email him actually, though I;m sure he wouldn't want to hear from me." Kitty said a bit defeated. She did miss him and thought about him sometimes. Especially recently when everyone else seemed to want to avoid her. She had spent many days alone recently and John was someone who creeped into her mind often.
She looked back over to Bobby giving a weak smile. "I guess you've emailed him a few times then? Does he respond?" She wanted to know of she even had a chance of hearing from him. Her thoughts drifted back to the past few weeks. She had wanted to find him when she had left the institute. She spent so much time confused she didn't know what to think anymore.

> "I guess you've emailed him a few times then? Does he respond?"
"Yeah... um... we've exchanged a few things. Messages, I mean. Emails." He pauses, suddenly unsure whether he wants to share the address or not, unsure whether he wants John in communication with other people at the Institute.
Which is ridiculous. It would be great if more people stayed in touch with him, made him understand how many friends he had here... wouldn't it? (Wouldn't it?)
And yet he doesn't volunteer the address, though he isn't really sure why.
Which leads to an awkward silence, as he stares at the corridor floor as they walk. Which stretches out absurdly.
"So, um..." he asks, casting about for a safe subject, "I've been wondering... how much you can carry with you when you phase?"

Kitty could tell he wanted to change the subject for some reason and was a bit unwilling to hand over the email address. "Well just email me address. I want to talk to him again." She said matter of factly. Before letting the subject drop herself.
When he asked about how much she could carry she thought for a moment. She had never pushed that limit before. "Well I guess however much I can carry usually. I mean I'm strong, but not that strong. But if I had someone who could carry a massive amount of weight I guess I could phase them with me. Thats not something I have tried before. I can phase other people with me, I don't see why I couldn't phase whatever they were carrying as well. Maybe thats something you could help me with sometime." She said giving Bobby a smile. She would like to get the chance to work with him again and this would give them the perfect opportunity.

> "Well just email me address. I want to talk to him again." Bobby nods. " I'll do that." He wonders if he will. He wonders what John and Kitty will talk about. He doesn't wonder why the notion frightens him, though... that much at least is obvious. Which is absurd. Why should he have to hide anything? It's not like he isn't already the official Institute fuckup, anyway... this would just be one more thing, if it got out. If Kitty finds out, then she does. If not, she doesn't. Right? Right? He squints a bit as they enter the kitchen, trying to follow her explanation of her power and failing. "I don't get it... why do you have to carry it at all? I mean, if you could phase, say, that refrigerator with you if Pete were around to carry it, can't you phase it while it's sitting on the floor?"

Kitty watched him. "I could phase it through the floor and it would crash below us. It doesn't change its weight just because I phase it. That would make a mess and be totally unproductive. I would thinking you were talking about like carrying something heave that can be used." She said opening the fridge and pulling out a Coke. She grabbed a second one handing it to him.
"If Pete were carrying something and I phased him with me then it would still work. As far as I can tell I can phase just about anything with me. Now phasing something like the x-jet through a mountain or something, now that I haven't even tried yet. Though I will admit it would be a fun experiment."

(( OOC: Whoops! Wrong char. Oh well.))
> "It doesn't change its weight just because I phase it."
Bobby blinks. "But then why don't you fall through the -- " he shakes his head and adds hastily "No, never mind... forget I asked. It probably has something to do with thermodynamics." He mock-shivers, takes the Coke. "Um... thanks."
He takes a few sips, then roots through the freezer for ice-cream, eventually coming out with a half-pint of mocha chocolate chip. "Aha! Found some!"
It occurs to him, not for the first time, that among the many things he doesn't know about how the Institute is maintained is who does the shopping.
"So, anyway," he asks as he spoons some ice-cream into a bowl and grabs a spoon, "where'd you go when you left? Place wasn't the same without our resident ghost."
