Jean-Paul walked through the ready-room, the X-Uniforms in glass cases lined the walls, drawers at the bottom of them for spare suits. He headed to the back of the room, ten empty glass cases stood at the back, he ran his hand over one of them, This'll be mine soon he thought When i finally become an X-Man He sat on on the long bench in that ran through the middle of the room. He closed his eyes and breathed in the air conditioned air, there was a faint smell of leather. He sighed and swung his legs up onto the bench and lay down with his hands behind his head, he had a uniform similar to those in the cases, only his was simpler, and not emblazoned with the trademark "X". He knew it was silly to pine over a bondage suit with a couple of "X"s on it, but it was what the uniform represented that he wanted. He wanted to be an X-Man, to help protect innocent people from Brotherhood Scum, to help show the homo sapiens that Mutants weren't bad, but just the next step in evolution.
Jean-Paul wanted to be able to help prevent another Alcatraz-esque fiasco, and he beleived that being one of the X-Men could be the way to do that. jean-Paul thought back to Raymonde, how he had treated Jean like his own son, how he hadhelped him through what had seemed like the most difficult part of his teenage years. Jean lay there, thinking, he came here to be alone, this place was almost sacred to him, it was as if he had been working so hard for the past few months just so he could get his own uniform and have it displayed in a glass case. He giggled, realising how silly it sounded, a grown man wanting nothing more then to have his fancy leather suit put in a giant test-tube.
Jean-Paul Beaubier, a franco-canadian mutant with patriotic streak and a tendency to want to be called Northstar, add that to the fact that he was gay and had you had a real head case on your lap.
