Freya sat on her bed just staring at the ceiling. She had heard that she was getting a new room mate today and she wasn't relishing it. She liked her privacy, in her whole life she had never had to share anything with anyone, and the new girl would probably mess up her perfectly clean space.
Sitting up she smoothed down her hair and straightened her clothes. If she had to deal with this at least she would look good. The silk of her shirt felt comforting and she continued to smooth her hand down it. To an outsider it would've looked weird. Her just standing there, staring at nothing, stroking her stomach.
Freya wondered about her new room mate, hoping that she would at least be considerate enough to keep her own space. The thing that Freya hated the most was people who went around other people's feelings. In her mind Freya conjered up the perfect image of the perfect room mate. Conservative, nice, career orientated and quiet.
Freya jumped up slightly as she heard the click of the door. Guess she was going to find out what they were going to be like...

Tabitha was in a right little snit. She had just had to sit through an hour lecture on the do's and don'ts of the academy. All she could hear in her ears was a whistle because the drone of that voice had just sent her brain in freeze-time. Plus she just had to walk up all these stairs, while second floor wasn't much, she was still soooo tired.
Walking down the corridor she followed the room numbers and held up the piece of paper that she had been given. Her room-mate was a ..... Freya Cain ..... Great, with a name like Freya she just had to be a brat. Tabitha had the great ability of judging people before she had even met them and she had been proved right in about 80% of times.
Tabitha came to the right door and sighed. She didn't have the energy to do this. But the bed was in there and maybe the room-mate wasn't even in there. With a sigh of irritation she opened the door.
The sight that met here made her laugh. Standing there was this tall, blonde pretty girl - rubbing her tummy. It could make the most humourless person crack up and added to the shocked, open-mouthed look on her face it was priceless. Quickly without thought she pulled out her camera and took a quick shot.
"Hungry?"
Tabitha giggled and shook the picture as it came out. It looked great, a really good keepsake or embarrasing moment snap.
"Great look. I'm Tabitha, but don't ever call me that or Tab or Tabby and never link words to it like Tabby Cat. I hate that!. Call me Boom Boom."
She held out her hand all the while grinning her lop-sided smile. She knew she looked quirky but she didn't care. Tabitha looked towards her bed and eagerly looked forward to testing it out.

Freya smiled, unsure of what exactly was going on she decided to act as normal as possible until she got a true feel for this person. Looking at the outstretched hand she grasped it gently and shook it, as well as nodding her head in a sign of respect.
"Hi, i'm Freya Cain. It's nice to me you... Boom Boom."
Freya got slightly stuck on the name that the other girl had chosen. In her opinion there was nothing wrong with the name Tabitha, it was perfectly good, and had a lovely ring to it, very feminine. Boom Boom sounded like an explosion gone wrong, but looking at the new girl it seemed to suit her....personality.
"I'm not hungry, not really."
Freya wanted to get on the good side of the girl and knew that first impressions were always important. She didn't want to be seen as a freak. The other girl, however, didn't seem to care just kept looking over to the bed like she wanted it desperately. Maybe her social skills were a little off if she bored the pants off others that they needed to sleep.
Oh this room partnership was totally going to be wrong. Both girls seemed like polar opposites of each other and Freya felt like she didn't know how she was going to cope with it all.

This is the point where Boom Boom got really uncomfortable. The awkward silence that comes when nobody has anything to say to wach other descended on them. Deciding that this really wasn't the vibe that she wanted going with her new room mate she chose to do something that her outrageous self wanted to do more than aything.
"I'm sooooo tired. This my bed?" Boom Boom didn't wait for an answer before just jumping on the single matress at the side of the room. "Nice. This'll be great."
Boom Boom got up and looked out of the small window. Not much to see from their room, just some trees. SHe didn't mind though she decided to spice up the room anyway and turn it from a .... drab, loser paradise to a room fit for royalty - or at least teenage girls. Going over to her suitcase she yanked it up and dumped it on the bed.
"What we need in this room is some colour."
From her suitcase Boom Boom produced some of her favourite scarfs, blankets and candles. Ignoring the other girl she started making the space her own. Pinning the wall hangings up and creating a look that screamed cool. Spying what seemed to be her desk (who really wanted one of those?) she placed candles and insense. After much practice Boom Boom had learned how to light things like these with her powers and with a little pop the room started to smell more like her old house.
"There much better. What do you think?"

Freya was shocked into silence. The girl before her was a bottle rocket that was for sure. That fact seemed to scare her as she didn't really do well with the over-enthuiastic. They always were toooo social, if you know what she means. Boom Boom in the course of two minutes had rearranged what had been a couple of days hard earned organisation. The colours on the wall now totally distroyed the peaceful, uncluttered feeling that had been present.
"It's okay..."
This was said with a slightly disbelieving tone. Freya could see their personalities clashing but was determined to make sure it wasn't that obvious. She was a people pleaser, like her father, and had to make this transition work...on her life before anything else failed.
