Magneto listened intently as to what Pyro had to say, for believe it or not, the boy's opinions and thoughts did matter somewhat. Magneto was a tyrant, no matter how it may look to others, he was open to what suggestions those around him had to make. The old man just took charge because, yes, this decision to openly make the first move was his and even if Pyro or one of the others did not understand it, he was a natural leader. Magneto had seen things that these "pups" had never even begun to imagine yet and as much as he hated to admit it, he had already failed where they hadn't even begun to begin. He knew, for the majority, what would work and what wouldn't.
As Pyro played with the lighter, Magneto knew the boy was having serious second thoughts, he lacked the conviction that Magneto and a few others had, willing to do anything for the sake of achievement....not necessarily a bad thing for times like this one, that hesitation may have just saved them a world of trouble down the road. Looking to the fire burning in front of him and at the crumpled up cars and scraps of metal, Magneto slowly nodded his head. "Thank you my boy," were the four soft words spoken next by the old man as he looked to Pyro and genuinely smiled at him, his face showing something odd. Magneto seemed to be more of himself again, drawn back to reality. With a sigh, he levitated off the ground, "Go and find the others that were with us and meet me in town later....that place called..."Starbucks", we'll talk more there," he said as he took another deep breath and looked back at the destruction he had caused, "I'll buy a bit of time before leaving, give you a good head start," he said with a smile, as if he was going to enjoy what was about to happen.
Magneto wasn't some evil monster like he was made out to be by the homo sapien media, but for just a moment, he had become the monster he so sought to destroy, but thanks to the opinion of one lone boy, he had been spared another list of nightmares and wrong decisions. Magneto had become so wrapped up in his own hate and vengeance that he had lost sight of what he really wanted for a moment. To Pyro or anyone else, the boy's decision might have seemed cowardly, but to Magneto, for the moment, it was sound advice.
