Sherridan played this game well and with time and age, Magneto suspected he would be a very powerful mutant one day. The homo sapiens had given level ratings to mutants, basing them on their powers and the strengths of said powers, and while that was a good idea in and of itself, Magneto knew true power was knowledge. Knowing how to use your powers and other such gifts given you was the key to true success, after all, what good was being a level five if you only understood a tenth of what you were capable of doing? This was where Magneto knew he had Sherridan, the old man had been playing this sort of game far longer than Ferus had been alive, but then again, the old man had also learned never to underestimate your opponent.
"I want a mutant, not a name Ferus. I want someone who is willing to cross any line to ensure the safety of our kind and will not back down from any silly nonsense these homo sapiens would try to force upon us," he said carefully before taking a sip of his luke warm water. Magneto of course wouldn't mind having the money someone like Sherridan could bring, but when you where someone like Magneto, money wasn't something that was hard to come by.

Sherridan now has a sly smile on his face. And so does Ferus. "I know that, but what I am asking is, cross any line from which side of it? Or at which point of it, if you like thinking of it that way. I have offered you two names merely for the convenience of the way it was formulated. What I really am asking is, I hope it's clear now, do you want to have a diplomat who knows how to cross the line subtly, or an assassin, who knows how to act properly when the time and need be?" he replies.
Years of circulating through the seemingly dull waters of aristocracy have taught him how subtle, yet strong feelings exist between the so many bored-looking snobs. Each and every one of them has their own little gang, and each and every one of them has his or her own net of enemies and allies, and all are leading hundreds of private wars against one another. Still, in public, their game is more than secret, and they are all just bored stinking rich people who are friends with each other. Their game, however, became Sherridan's game, and he soon mastered it, appearing on top of it, forming his own net, one where everyone was both an enemy and an ally without even knowing it, and so he manages to keep most aristocrats as his very powerful contacts. Sherridan is a natural for these things, and Ferus is a natural for survival and hunting, so together, they are quite formidable as both foe and ally.
All Magneto has to do, however, is simply answer the question correctly, and he will have both Ferus and Sherridan on his side. All it takes is a single word. Perhaps, if he doesn't get it, I'll have to say it myself. But he should be more than capable of understanding it. he thinks for a brief second, waiting the answer.

Magneto smiled and continued to stare straight ahead. The question Ferus was asking was hinting that he was looking for something in particular but Magnus had other ways of looking at the question. He saw no difference in what Sherridan asked him, both diplomat and assassin where the one in the same, they just had different ways of destroying their target. An assassin could erase you from the game, plain and simple but a diplomat, well he could erase your entire name, reputation and while leaving you alive, he could take away your social life leaving you nothing but a shell of what you used to be.
"Both are one in the same to me Ferus and as I've said, I need a mutant who wants to fight for the cause. Either bring all of you or none of you, its that simple with the Brotherhood. I don't need half of what you are, I need all of it. I need Sherridan Kaine and his social grace, but I also need Ferus and his zeal for putting mutants on top where they should be," he said as he rose to leave, not making any attempt to pay for his water and to be honest, who was going to make him. "At the edge of town, outside the forest you'll find us, just look hard enough," he said with a serious face, knowing the cat man would come, it would just be a matter of time. Then with that last sentence, Magnus walked away and back out into the world.

A small smile creeps on his face. Just the answer he has been looking for. "I will come, then, as soon as I justify my leaving from the apartment." he replies simply, trying not to laugh.
Seriously, the apartment itself has already given him more than enough reasons to leave- no water, no electricity, a horde of cockroaches above, a horde of rats bellow, and loud, peasant neighbors undeserving of life.
It would be amusing to think of something else, or perhaps set a pair of lawyers on the owner's back. The apartments, however, in their current state would be more useful for the storage of any accidental victims. This thought actually claims a short laugh out of Ferus, and he stands up, paying for his drinks, and leaves the pub only a few minutes after Magneto.
Once out, he goes upwards, fully alert and on the prowl. He has decided that it is time for some light hunting. His eyes quickly spot a pair of thugs who most obviously hate mutants. Or maybe not. Even if they don't, he's going to kill them.
After all, humans are expendable.
