After the fight, Josh skids to a halt on the grass next to Warren.
"Are you ok? Is it broken?" He can't help but sound concerned.
>"My car's not far. I'll take y'all wherever it is y'mentioned."
Josh eyes Warren from his position on the ground, hand on his shoulder. Is that a good idea? We don't even know her. On the other hand, she did help us out. And she's obviously a mutant...
He briefly wishes Riley was there with them, but then her putting her hands on Warren also flashes into his mind, and he's feeling that Warren will probably be fine until they get back to the med lab, and that's probably selfish.... Josh busies himself with the cut that apparently appeared on his cheek from exchanging rocks with his clone, and sends to Warren:
<Is it safe to take her back with us? We could have her drop us in town... Storm could meet us with a car?> He doesn't sound convinced either way.

> "Are you ok? Is it broken?"
Warren chuckles and stands back up, trying not to let the pain show on his face. He's reasonably successful, though surrounded by telepaths and empaths it might not actually make much difference.
"The leg? Well, yes... of course it's broken. It's aligned right, though... it'll heal OK in a day or two. Believe me, I have a lot of experience with this. Though hey, if you feel like taking care of the invalid while it heals I won't complain..." The grin is reflexive at this point, though it lasts only a second. Oh, god, did I really just say that? Down, boy!
(( OOC: I lost track... this is pre-rave, right? ))
> "My car's not far. I'll take y'all wherever it is y'mentioned."
> <Is it safe to take her back with us? We could have her drop us in town... Storm could meet us with a car?>
Warren shrugs to Josh and sends back <The Institute's supposed to be open to all mutants, right? I don't suppose she's interested in being a student, but I'd say it's worth introducing her around, see what happens. Your call, though... you've been there a lot longer than I have. Having her drop us off in town is fine, too... and I can fly, you know. The wings weren't injured.>
He grins to Larza in the meantime. "Thanks... that's kind of you. Which way is your car?"

Yeah, his pain was really starting to grate on her, now. Her shields were low, and it was just...ow. She also picked up on someting between the two, some connection. She wasn't sure what it was - she didn't know them well enough to pick out what, per se, they were feeling, aside from pain, or normal emotional changes.
"Thanks... that's kind of you. Which way is your car?"
Larza glanced around her for a moment to get her bearings, then pointed in the proper direction. "Tha' way." she responded verbally.
She was glad this had only been a warning mission. Glad she didn't have ither a body in the trunk, or a bunch of weaponry stashed about the car. Nothing like that to deal with tonight, and that was wonderful.
She started towards the car, leading the way, but slowly, so as to ensure they'd follow, and for the sake of the guy's leg, if he was going to walk, anyway.

Warren nods when Larza points in the direction of her car. "All right... I'll meet you there." To Josh he adds "I think I'm going to have to cancel the rest of our flying lesson, though. I promise, I'll make it up to you later."
He hops up into the air on his good leg and catches the wind, preferring flying over limping. Once he gets enough altitude he can see the car in the distance, and locks his wings to glide there casually.
We really ought to do something with that rock... but the last thing we should do is stick around, who knows what it'll do next? Well, once we're back at the Institute we can get somebody to deal with it with more preparation.
He lands by the car relatively quickly, taking care to land on his good leg, and leans against the hood waiting for the rest of the crowd. He checks his wounds quickly and confirms that the bleeding has already stopped and most of the cuts have healed, though it will still take a while for the bone to knit. He sighs... he'd thought he'd gotten past the bone-breaking stage of his life.
Though in retrospect, why he thought that given the sort of life his new housemates lead is actually rather beyond him.

> I promise, I'll make it up to you later."
Josh smiles a little. "You better... see you there." Warren flaps off, and Josh resists the temptation to worry. He's gonna be fine. He'd fly off after him, in fact, except his head is killing him. Too much psionic exertion coupled with a blow to the head. He'll take something for it when he gets back - anything the girl had on hand probably wouldn't mesh well with his body chemistry. Certain drugs had interesting effects when your mutation was rooted chemically in your mind...
He limps off in the direction of the car, and looks over at Larza. "So, what were you doing out here, anyway? Do you live around here?" Right. Maybe if she's some kind of serial killer. No one lives around here.

((M'kay, sorry, totally didn't realize I hadn't posted...I'm really outta it..))
"All right... I'll meet you there." Larza simply nodded. He was the hurting one, so she was almost glad for the distance, albeit temporary. That gave her a little time to collect herself, to get these dang shields in order...
Pushing all the feelings she was recieving into a small corner of her mind, and throwing up a wall, it was almost working all the way. Now everything was just faint...better, at least. Best she could do without totally spacing out and ignoring the kid...who was talking right now...
"So, what were you doing out here, anyway? Do you live around here?"
She glanced over, slight half-smile on her face. "No, 'M here on work. Had to deliver a message t'some guy...it's not important, though, I'll come back out tomorrow." she responded.
((I'm just gonna go ahead and make them get to the car in this post, to save time...))
As they reached the car, she didn't need to unlock it, as she hadn't bothered. It wasn't hers, not really, so why bother? She opened her door, glanced at Warren, and at the car, then back up with a slight smile.
"Hope you'll be able to get them wings in there without bendin' 'em or somethin'." she remarked. "I'd feel pretty bad if they got all screwed up." Well, not in the guilty sense. She'd just hate to see pretty wings like them all damaged. She hadn't grown a concience or anything.

> "Hope you'll be able to get them wings in there without bendin' 'em or somethin'."
Warren grins as he squeezes himself into the car. "No worries, I'm used to it... they compress." Not that it's comfortable, but he is used to it, and the truth is he isn't looking forward to flying the twenty miles back.
When everyone is settled in the car, he adds "Our place is about 20 miles south of here, in Westchester... the Xavier Academy, if you've heard of it." He watches her carefully for a reaction... after all, he'd gone there in the first place because the word on the street was Xavier's was a mutant safehouse, and she was a mutant, so she might have heard of it too.

Josh slips into the backseat with Warren, conscious of how small the space feels with Warren's wings there with them. He supposes that close contact with Warren shouldn't be a big deal anymore - the guy carries him when they fly, for crying out loud.
But it still is. God, he's injured. Give it a rest. He carefully closes the door, and looks over at Warren as he speaks to the girl.
"You all right? We'll fix you up as soon as we get home." He pats Warren's leg reassuringly, careful to avoid any injuries.
(OOC - any ideas on how long we want to keep this going? a particular direction?)

(( OOC: If Larza's up for an intro to the Institute, I think that could be fun... maybe we could go join Warhead on the basketball court? If not, I think we could probably stop this now. ))
