>"And just who are you anyway?"
As the idea of time traveling friends of old becomes more and more like the truth, he remembers that it was not until a while after Primer's taking over the brotherhood that he got to meet Daniel. That's right...it took some time to get in with the X-men...so sad that didn't last. he thinks indifferently, chuckling a bit.
"Does it really matter? You've lost half of who you are, if not all of it. Your own existential crisis should be your only worry, really." he replies lightly. No one ever said anything about comforting "bad guys" from the past, did they? Come to think of it, someone, in some movie with a painfully corny plot. Or perhaps in a very cool comic book. Comic books are usually better at carrying time traveling plots out than movies.
"Drake has a tendency to trap the mutants around and get them to his little prisons." he replies to the younger Mathew, wondering how long ago these guys are from. The unconscious boy he only marginally recognizes as a member of the old Brotherhood before he's carried off by the prodigal offspring of the people who were once his friends, and just feels a general out-of-place vibe all over the place, reminding him severely of those days when he was trying almost maniacally to fit in, and failing in equal measure.
