Names
Proper display names. Pyro is good. St John Allerdyce is good. Up to you which way you go though as a rule the Brotherhood are going to use codenames. Sjluva4eva will incur the wrath of your beloved admins, which is not something you want
Activity
Post at least once a week. More would be good. Canon charries in particular should try and keep active. If you fall inactive you’ll be chased until we loose patience and delete you. If you know you’re going to be away post in the Activity Notice board under Forum Related.

You control your character... other people control theirs. The only exception would be where you write minor actions in order to keep the post moving e.g there is an explosion and you all start running. But other that that NO. You also CANNOT kill anyone else's character unless you have ok'd it with them and admin beforehand. And no creating UBER-POWERFUL characters either. Moo.

100m is a little different to most sites in that we’re RPing in 3rd person present tense. For example:
..... She can’t help noticing how lost he looks, putting it down to the absence of his lighter
..... Rogue can’t help noticing how lost he looks, putting it down to the absence of his lighter
Both of the above are correct. I can’t help noticing how lost he looks is incorrect. I should be he / she or a name. She couldn’t help noticing how lost he looked is incorrect. That’s past tense.
Ammendment - 11/07/2006 Okay, so we're not going to be that strict about this. Because 3rd person present is hard. If it's easier for you post in 3rd person past... Obviously 3rd present is still preferred but whatever. Only thing we will ask is that once a thread starts in one 'voice' keep it going in the same

Speech in “speech marks”
Thoughts are in italics
Telepathy is <like this>
If speaking in a foreign language (e.g. because you’re Kurt, or something) then you can put --{the English between curly brackets with dashes like this}--
OOC Comments [[like this]] – try to keep these to a minimum
Length
Not going to put a minimum requirement, because everyone has off days, but 1-2 meaty paragraphs as a rule makes up a post. More would be most welcome.
One liners aren’t acceptable. Ever.
Be descriptive. Talk about what you’re thinking, what’s going on around you… Anything and everything to add colour and detail to your post.
Spelling and Grammar
Try at least to spell things correctly and use correct grammar. It’s understandable if that goes out of the window while you’re talking if that’s how the character speaks, but other than that accuracy makes the admins happy. No cht tlk or l33t if you want to avoid painful death.
Mature Content
There may well be sex, violence, drugs etc in the RP. No profanity censors are in place, though moderation is advised. Slash ispositively encouraged allowed. We're not setting an age limit, but if you don't think you can deal with that then please consider carefully before joining up and don't complain about it. However, at the other end of the scale, don't get too graphic or explicit. If you think some people might be offended by what is going to happen in your post please put an OOC warning before you start the RP. In the event that a thread does get out of hand the admins will lock or password protect it.
Realism
Stay true to your character. Unless there is a very good reason in your personality , history or current story arc, most people aren’t going to launch into randomly massacring everyone. If you’re a socially awkward, shy and reserved girl, like Rogue, then you aren’t going to strip naked and run through the corridors exclaiming your intense love for [insert name here]. Logan isn’t going to change his name to Loretta and start hanging around the New York gay clubs…. You get the idea.
Disciplinary procedure
A rule is broken, you’ll get a fair warning from one of us admins. If it's in a thread the thread will be locked.
If the situation is not rectified, or you consistently break the rules, then you will receive firstly a ban of up to 2 weeks based on the severity of the incident, and then a full-out ban.
That's about it for now. Don't worry too much about the rules - if you break them, you'll know. Rules are subject to change; you'll be notified by PM if anything changes. Stick the word WESTCHESTER at the end of your applic to prove you’ve read the rules. Love each other, respect us, play nice (but not too nice, right?) and HAVE FUN!
