Psychic attack... (Rasputin?)

So, I gather from the "From Russia with Love" post tagged at Warren, and the earlier Rasputin/Mags conversation (which I haven't really been following) that you want to start a thread where Rasputin does some kinda mental attack on Warren, yes?

No objection in principle, but I want some idea of where you intend to go with the thread and whether participating in it will be any fun for me, before I weigh in.

Some specific questions:
1) Do you want a unilateral "Rasputin pwns Warren and has his unopposed way with him" kind of thread? Or more of a "mental battle over Warren" kind of thread?

If we want the latter, it's easy enough, but we have to introduce Josh, since Warren on his own would lose any mental battle in seconds. (This isn't hard, since we've established that Josh and Warren have a Scott/Jean like telepathic rapport going, so he'd probably notice anyone messing with Warren's head.)

2) Assuming Raspy gets his way (either unopposed or victorious against opposition), where do you intend to go from there?

Some possibilities below, some of which I'd enjoy more than others:

• kill Warren?
  
• permanently scar/traumatize him?
  
• privately hurt/humiliate him just to prove he can?
  
• trash his reputation/destroy his resource base? (eg, mindcontrol him to kill a busload of nuns and puppies on national TV, or give away his fortune to the American Communist Party, or alienate the rest of the Xmen, or something along those lines?)
  
• use him as some kind of weapon against the Xmen/Institute?
  

Or, if you have something else in mind, feel free to suggest.

We don't need to plan every detail or anything, but agreeing in broad strokes on where we want the thread-arc to end up goes a long way towards letting it be fun for everyone involved.

So... thoughts?

Well first and foremost, you're great for playing along with me. Just bare with me, all of this detail stuff is fairly new to me lol.

Specific answers:
1) I want you to have as much fun, if not more, then myself. I'm not really aiming towards taking full control of you, I'm more interested in just 'toying' with you, a mental battle yes. I'd just like to get my foot in the door seeing as I haven't really done anything important yet. Maybe get introduced to each other, or what not.

I would really like it if Josh came into this thread as well, actually I was planning on it. It would be a great psychic battle, and I would be 'sending' a message to the X-Men who pillaged the Brotherhood house, as my mission is.

2) I am a huge fan of Warren, and I would personally fight for his survival lol. No, I don't want him to die, that is not my intent. My true intent is to prove to Mags that I'm useful, and I would like to have a round with some X-Men, who knows, we might become friends, willingly or not lol. I'm Catholic, and seeing a bus load of nuns being killed would be devastating. But I sort of like the idea of using you not so much as a weapon, but as an example maybe to the X-men. That pillaging Mag's crib is unacceptable, and will be dealt with accordingly. Does that make any sort of sense? But I'm really open to any other ideas you have as well, and Josh too assuming he is getting involved.

Thanks for hammering this out with me, it should be a cool thread to get into. I'd really like some of your feed back as to where you want this thread to lead as well.

OK - so Raspy pounds on Warren's head for a while, Josh intervenes, the three of us do an astral battle thread (well, Rasp and Josh mostly take care of the "battle" part, though Warren will be involved if only as the bone y'all are playing tug-of-war over).

At some point Rasp withdraws, his point having been made... or Josh chases him off... or perhaps a little of both... with no permanent effects but the point made that the Brotherhood can and will retaliate if we dis them again.

Works for me. Astral battles are fun, and we don't do enough of them. Josh, you in?

As for time/place -- I assume Warren can be anywhere, since the attack is astral, and that this is happening after Invasion? (Before is fine too, if you prefer, just helps to know.)

Additional thought on making this cool.

What if the psychic battle, instead of taking place in some external "astral plane" kinda environment, actually takes place in Warren's mind?

With the following consequences:
1) The environment is part of Warren's mind, so the setting changes in response to his state of mind, and various metaphorical thoughts, emotions, etc. appear and disappear throughout the fight.

2) Rasputin has a tactical advantage, since he can target anything in the environment to hurt Warren (since it's all Warren's mind), and Josh has to try and protect everything at once.

3) Josh has the "home court" advantage, since he's way more familiar with Warren's mind than Rasputin is.

Figured this could add a certain amount of entertaining weirdness to the battle. (This is similar to what we'd had in mind for the Rogue's Mind thread, except that thread seems to have died a deadly death.)

I'm okay with this thread as a long as Warren isn't traumatized or injured because of it. The idea of Mags sending a message that it's not okay to fuck with BH HQ works for me - but anything more severe than that I'm not really down with.

The astral battle sounds good, since (like Warr said) the Rogue thread fizzled out.

Just pointing out from Mags' point of view, I really don't want to kill Warren or send him into some catatonic state, just send a message and remind the X-men that they are getting a bit too cocky for their own good. It seems I've been too lax with dealing with the X-men and their interventions and I thought that a refresher course in all things that are Magneto would be in order.

Looking forward to seeing this thread play out, should be very fun....from my twisted sort of view.

Does Warren need to be physically present for Raspy to do his thing? (I'd assumed Rasputin could tag him from a distance, and was just at the movies for style points... but if not, I can get Warren there somehow or other.)
