well, I imagine the journalist is playing up that aspect for laughs. probably the judge threw her hands up in the air and said "OK, fine, let me see the damned toys/dolls and I'll make a decision," which she probably made in about 30 seconds based on which of the lawyers she liked better.

Yeah, the New Defenders was a pretty whacked-out title back in the day. I remember buying this issue when it came out... I guess my nephew has it, now. Manslaughter wasn't exactly a member at the time, but they did hang out with him, once they got past the whole he-tried-to-kill-them thing.

He's working on bringing something on this theme into 100m Canon almost as I type, I'll have you know  Also, Hank's "It's not all fun and games, you know" speech made me giggle far more than is proper ("the constant danger, the alienation from the mass of humanity, and the fact that milk yields go down in thunderstorms" !)
