Hey! Just curious if anyone else is a Harry Potter addict and is getting excited for the release of the final book?
I'm going to the store at midnight on Friday! wooo!

I'm going to a midnight party too, I was at the perfect age for these books, about eleven myself when I read the first one so my friends and I have completely grown up with them. Not going to a party would break considerable years of tradition that involves almost getting thrown out every year for reading stories from the erotica section out loud and giggling. Though perhaps since we're all legal adults now we'll have to be a bit more mature...

*waves hand* I'm going to a midnight party as well! We're also having a "Philosophical Potter Picnic" all day, where we'll be ranting and pondering and generally being geeks before we get to read Book 7.

So, I'll admit -- not to douse anyone else's fankink -- that HP has never really done it for me. I guess I'm just the wrong generation; I read the first couple of books and lost interest.
Somewhat ironically given the site, reading Laurie's comment made me realize I feel exactly that way about the 80s X-Men, though. So, I cheer y'all on in cross-genre geek solidarity, and stuff.
