Hi everyone!
Some of you know that I'm majoring in psychology. In the spring, I'm going to be presenting some research (assuming it gets accepted) at a conference. And... you can help me a bit if you want!
What I'd like to know is... if anyone is left handed here, can you trace a path backwards through your family line for a couple generations of left handers? For example, I'm left-handed. My mother is also, and she was raised mostly by her grandmother, who is also left-handed.
And even if you're not left handed, if this phenomena does occur with a brother, or sister, or friend, etc.... that would also be cool to know.
Thanks everyone! :)

LEFTIES UNITE. Wh00t! xD I did a research project on left-handedness myself. Huzzah!
Both my brother and I are left-handed. My dad was left-handed, but the school system forced him to write with his right hand because when he wrote with his left hand he wrote backwards. I don't mean like.. siht.. I mean like.. the whole actual letters were backwards as well as the words. He's slightly ambidextrous now, as am I. As far as I know, we're the only ones in the family.

Thanks!
I work for a big twin research project at my university, and I'm contemplating checking to see whether favoring your left hand in the first few years of your life contributes to motor or developmental problems, or temperament issues. I'm thinking that having a parent who is also left-handed might mitigate those problems.
We have tons of monozygotic and dizygotic data, so technically I should be able to tease apart the differences between those two type of twins, which I thought might be interesting.
All of this is totally in its infancy... (ahaha, sometimes I crack my child psychological self up!) but thanks for your input!
