Professor Charles Xavier, Scott Summers, and Jean Grey-Summers were all killed in action nearly a year ago. Ororo Munroe has been doing her very best to run the school, with Logan’s assistance. Things have been peaceful. Rogue left the Institute, X-Men, and Bobby Drake, her longtime boyfriend behind, to start a new life, now “normal”. Many others have joined the Institute, and many have left.
Now, a crisis has risen.
Magneto, once injected with the ‘cure’, has regained his powers – and vowed vengeance against the X-Men, first and foremost, for transforming him into a homo sapien. He is gathering his Brotherhood, the estranged members joining forces oncemore, growing in numbers, and in power. He seeks total and utter destruction, and he will not rest until he has gotten it. His band is quickly becoming a group of fanatics – all bound to the cause Magneto has placed before them.
In addition, there’s a disturbance, echoing through the minds of all the telepaths and empaths in the world. Ripples of a great threat, a strange and terrifying presence has touched them all, just beneath the surface of detection, but within the range of their senses.
Something is about to happen – something that will change their world forever...
