Welcome to First Mutants, an RPG set in the Middle Ages, based loosely on the X-Men and Brotherhood. In this incarnation, the two rival organizations, known as the Guild of Heroes, and the Brotherhood, are constantly fighting.
England, ruled by a king, is afraid of the mutant menace, and it's soldiers are ordered to detain mutants on sight and bring them to the mutant camps. Mutants are then marked with the letter "M" on their forearms and held in captivity, too scared to use their powers to escape.
This policy has incurred the wrath of the leader of the Brotherhood, Magnus (based on Magneto). His Brotherhood are fighting back.
On the other side, the Guild of Heroes, led by one Charles Xavier, strive for a peaceful solution. His Heroes are trained in the peaceful arts, only using violence as a last resort.
