Batman... Batman... Batman...
The city is abuzz with that name. In conversations, in the news; anywhere you go in Gotham, people know the Batman. He's a savior to some, an instigator to others, but no matter the opinion, people just can't stop talking about Batman.
He's a mystery. A man, dressed up as a bat, who protects the city from the recent increase in crime--it just seems so strange. No one cared for the wellbeing of Gotham for so long, but roughly two years ago, Batman appeared and since then, the crime rate has decreased sixty percent.
Of course, with a hero comes villains.
This is not a matter of good versus evil--it never has been. It is a matter of right versus wrong; bad versus worse. Those villains who have so far stepped forth have proven that they are true threats. Insanity seems to reign through Batman's foes; are they "evil" or simply unable to comprehend the extent of their actions?
Arkham Asylum, a once mansion turned psychiatric hospital, is more often than not the place where Batman's enemies end up. Something doesn't seem quite right, however. Recently there has been an issue with breakouts. Who's to blame for the escape of thieves, serial killers and rapists? The city sets it's sights on the Arkham Staff, blaming them for negligence and failure to secure their premises.
Batman and the Gotham City Police Department have their hands full. It will be a tough job to collect the escaped villains, but the city is relying on them.
Batman... Batman... Batman... Please help us.
