Kitty sat in her room once more. She had returned not long before and after an interesting night with one of the new students she had discovered that her room was in fact still empty. Actually, she still had the entire room to herself. It was nice to have the privacy, but a bit lonely as well. The only good thing was that she was right down the hall from Julian.
She had actually liked the guy. When she had first met him she thought he was a bit arrogant, but staying with him the night before showed her that he was actually pretty cool. it was odd to still be thinking of him actually. She had other things she needed to concentrate on. Mainly she needed to concentrate on getting back into the habit of being around people who knew her and hopefully prove to the rest of the team that she belonged on the X-men.
Kitty had unpacked her things and put them away in the drawers against the wall. She was always making sure that everything was at least in its place. She was not organizing the room a bit better. Pulling a box out from under the bed that she had left behind she found a small stuffed bear. She lifted it out of its place and stared down at the small stuffed animal that held so many memories.
Before she had left home a boy had taken her to a carnival. She had never been able to go out by herself with anyone and she had been excited. Her parts had dropped them off and told them they would be back later to pick them up. They had ridden rides all day and he had played a few games, finally winning her the small bear. It had been a perfect day. She missed days like that. Ones that she didn’t have to worry about what she did or if she messed up someway.
Tears started to run down her cheeks as she thought about the events that had occurred after that day. She had been walking through the halls at school with the boy, not paying attention. As they walked she was laughing at a story he was telling and walked straight through a wall. Of course he saw her do this and panicked. She had tried to calm him down but had no luck. The next day she had been told that she was going away to school.
Sitting on the bed she continued to cry as she stared at the bear. She longed for the simple life again. She missed everything that the small toy represented. She missed the innocence that’s he had once displayed proudly, but now hid as much as possible.
