Mandatory Questions
1. What about you is heroic?
"Heroic? Well um.. I guess I'm pretty brave, not exactly 'heroic.' I like helping people out in times of need and all that stuff, and I guess that takes guts when I look like I do normally."
2. What about you is social? What do you like about people?
"Okay, so.. I can't say I'm really a butterfly or anything. He tilts his head and scans the floor. But I do like people though.. I like how different they all are, I guess. The variety is something I enjoy."
3. Of what benefit could you be to group you're currently affiliated with/intend to be affiliated with?
"Well um.. I'm hoping that my knowledge and experiences I can help teach the kids, you know. They won't have to do half the stuff I've done, really, but I guess it's better safe than sorry, huh? I mean.. look at me, I never thought any of this stuff would've come my way.."
4. Why would/did you choose to join this group?
"To be honest, uh.. I didn't even think they'd let me stay. It was hard to sweep everything you've done up underneath the rug when Xavier was still around.. and I sorta spilled my guts to him. I told him everything.. but he didn't turn me away like I'd thought he would. So um.. if I had a choice of joining, I guess it'd be because they're willing to forgive what's happened to you, and what you might look like beneath your skin.."
Personal Questions
5. What is your real, birth name? What name do you use?
"Erm.. well.. I get the whole 'your parents named you after a dog' kind of thing.. but it's not my real name. My real name is Jacob Emil Russoff, which sounds a whole lot better if you ask me. Anyway.. my mom came to America after my dad.. well.. after my dad died, and she wanted to.. uh.. integrate us into the U.S I think. I was only like.. two or three, so the whole thing is a blur. She pronounced my name like 'jak-ob'--maybe that's how they say it in Transylvania, I'm not sure--but um.. that's where she got Jack. Then she married Philip.. and took his last name. I've gone by Jack Russell ever since, even though I still have to sign legal papers and checks and stuff with my real name.. It's really confusing sometimes."
6. Do you have a nickname? What is it, and where did you get it?
"Jackie." He winces a little. "I've had it ever since I was little.. and people always seem to take to it when they want to give me a ribbing or something.. It just seems like a.. a girl name to me, you know? I guess that's why I don't really like it, but I'm not going to get mean about it or anything.."
7. What do you look like?
"Let's see.. 6'8", about three hundred fifty--sixty?--pounds, really dark fur, you know, short in some places and then long and uh.. ...huh? What? Oh.. oh! You mean as a human.. uh.. whoops sorry... can I do that again?"
8. How do you dress most of the time?
"I uh.." He looks down at himself a little. "Like this, usually. I mean.. I like to look partly decent when I'm teaching, since I'm supposed to be part of a.. uh.. higher learning institute. Polos, button-downs, slacks, nice shoes; I had to shop for a whole new wardrobe when I started teaching.. I never worried about what I looked like before when I was on the road.."
9. How do you "dress up?"
Well uh.. I don't get too fancy with it.. I mean.. I've got some ties and one pair of cufflinks that I can whip out.. And I think I have a dress jacket.. somewhere in my closet. I left most everything behind when I left home..."
10. How do you "dress down?"
"Jeans and a t-shirt. When I've got the full moon thing going.. I don't want to accidentally mess something up that I'd like to wear again."

15. Where do you live? Describe it: Is it messy, neat, avant-garde, sparse, etc.?
"I live in the institute.. I mean uh.. if it wasn't obvious. But um.. I have an upstairs room, and it's pretty spacey.. even for teaching arrangements. It used to be pretty bad messy.. since I wasn't around much at one point.. I'd just go in there and crash and throw my stuff all over the place. It's okay now.. since I moved back in and everything.. I had to bring all my stuff down from the attic.. and I built some shelves and.. uh.. I organized my books and uh.. I cleaned it up pretty nice. It's.. cozy, I guess. 17. What is your most prized mundane possession? Why do you value it so much?
"I uh... well I have it right here.." He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his wallet, a simple brown billfold. Jack pulls out a paper-thin picture still in fairly good condition. "See? I know it's uh.. kinda.. silly, I mean.. some people have something really cool and.. sentimental.. but it's.. just a picture of me and my sister, Lissa--that's her next to me. Yeah.. we kinda look alike, except I'm blonde and she's a brunette.. I guess I.. I guess I'm attached because it reminds me what we were like when we were kids, you know.. before we both had to sorta grow up and go our own separate ways.."
18. What one word best describes you?
"Weird..? I mean.. I uh.. I don't really know how to describe myself. I have two different lives, I guess.. and.. it's hard to explain that with one word. I could probably spend days rambling about who I think I am.. because I don't think I really know for sure."
