Made this for my "PR in a Health-related Organization" class. We had to develop a communication plan that would help launch a province-wide mumps campaign. So seriously people, get your mumps shot. (This is the poster intended for the male audience. I have a female one, but it's not as good.) (And sorry Bob, I forgot to shrunkitize it *pets Bob's poor tiny laptop screen*)

Here's a question. Do you not require mumps shots? In my state, schoolchildren have to get certain shots before they can go to school, and the mumps vaccination is one of them. I think it works pretty well, actually. Though I did enjoy your poster. :)

Yes, everyone here requires they get their MMR (Mumps, Measels, and Rubella) shots before they go to school, but most kids get two nowadays, thus immunizing them against the Mumps. But because the government figured that the Mumps was no longer a threat, they reduced it to one shot for every kid. For that reason, all of us between the ages of 17 and 24 have only been inoculated once, and are more likely to catch the mumps. In Nova Scotia, we're currently having a massive mumps outbreak with well over 400 registered cases, but it's more than likely that there have been at least 600 or more, because not everyone likes to go to the doctor and question the massive swelling on their neck or genitals. Most of the cases are occuring in highschool and university students, and we actually had to close down many of our universities due to outbreaks. We're also a pub town, so everyone loves to go downtown and get smashed, usually for no reason whatsoever. It's there that the Mumps are spread, because it's transmitted through saliva and other oral fluids (don't share your drinks people!). St Patrick's day was the worse, with something like 150 new cases reported shortly after the drinking holiday. So...yeah....We Bluenosers don't want to get sick....so go out and get your second MMR if you're between the ages of 17 and 24.
