ooc: I'm sooo sorry guys!! I've been busy and couldn't get on the computer at all. But I'm here now, so I'll quickly catch myself up to this point.
It was the usual Saturday morning, with people fighting over the TV. This time Riley was apart of it, because she was bored and heard a good show was going to be on. There wasn't any room on the couch, even though Josh was laying on everyone, Riley sat on the arm rest of the couch. Soon a broadcast came on saying that some mutants were taking over the US Capitol building, and taking several people as hostage. Right away Riley knew that they had to do some thing.
Bobby then spoke, saying that they need to go and help, then turned to her saying that maybe it would be a good idea for her to come in case some one was hurt. Riley nodded her head. Everyone had left to go put a uniform on. Since Riley was still wearing her Pj pants and a tank top, she quickly ran upstairs to get change. Riley wasn't at all apart of the school, she just lived there, and didn't have a uniform, so she put on some ripped jeans, black tank top, and quickly put her hair up.
Once she was done getting ready she quickly made her way to the jet. She knew that she took a lot longer then the others, but she had to run up to her bedroom, then all the way to the basement, so it wasn't really her fault for taking so long. When she was in the sub-basement, she quickly let her wings out of her back, to quickly fly through the hall, to make it faster.
Riley soon reached the jet and quickly flew through the entrance and once she was in, the door was closed. Letting her wings go back into her back, she quickly took a seat and buckled up. Looking around at the others, she felt so out of place, since they were all wearing a uniform but her. "Sorry it took so long, I had to change into some clothes." she told them.
I feel like such an outcast. These people don't even know me and I'm suppose to fight with them. They know a bit about my powers, but not much. They probably think I'm only going to be useful for the healing and nothing else. But they don't know my past, and how tough I can really be, but only when I'm not drunk or druged. I'll listen to them and do what they say most of the time, but when they really need help then I'll be there and fight.
"So what are the plans? I know I'm going to be healing any one who is injured, but if you need a disraction, I could do that. I don't care if I get hurt, I'll heal." she told them. Riley had a feeling that they would want to protect her, but she wanted to let them know that they don't need to worry about her and that she would be fine.

"I didn't mean -- Yeah, OK. Just... be careful, OK? Storm'll probably deduct your psych bills from my allowance, so let's try to keep the pizza party in your frontal cortex down to a dull roar." [/color]
With a small laugh, despite the situation, she nodded.
"Sounds good t'me, sugah." she responded simply, then leaned her head back against he seat, once more falling silent as Bobby and Josh conversed, falling into her own thoughts.
Rogue was aware of mention of seatbelts, and quickly fastened hers. She wasn't going ot run the risk of falling out of the jet again - especally since they had no teleporter to save her, this time. And then they were airborne, and Rogue felt her stomach shift unpleasantly. Not from the flight. From the realization that they were going to be there soon. They'd be walking into this soon, and she wasn't entirely sure she was ready. She had to be, of course, but that didn't mean that she felt like she was.
The antics of Bobby in choosing a leader amused her, but she didn't respond. She didn't care who the leader was, honestly, as long as it wasn't her.

Kitty listened to the others talking. She was concentrating more on the controls and what lied ahead than to worry about the small stuff. Seeing them all together without Logan or Storm made her realize that they were really going to try to do this on their own, not that she didn't think they could. As the last entered and the prepared for takeoff Kitty looked out the front window ready for whatever was ahead for them.
She made on more glance back at the team. They were all young, but they had some that had never been on even a small mission. This would be their first. It made Kitty think back to her own first and wonder how their nerves were holding up. Hers were surprisingly fine at the moment. Almost as if a torrential calm had engulfed her and prepared her for what they were about to get themselves into.

> "Sorry it took so long, I had to change into some clothes."
Bobby nods, distracted. " Yeah. Worth practicing quick-changes if you're going to do this sort of thing a lot, there are tricks to it. Anyway, you're here now, that's what matters. "
> "if you need a distraction, I could do that. I don't care if I get hurt, I'll heal."
" Right. We might need it... though if you get taken down then you can't help anybody else 'till you're back up again, so we've gotta be careful. Anyway, we'll do some recon when we get there and make more specific plans then."
Kitty doesn't respond to the discussion of field leadership, and Bobby shrugs and re-pockets the coin, not really sure what to do about it. Eventually he turns back to Josh and says " Well, we'll work it out, I guess. How long till we get there?"

>How long till we get there?
Josh looks at the GPS console situated on the console between the two pilots. "We're actually coming up on D.C. right now. I should probably engage the cloak." He turns to the screen on his left, and hits a couple buttons. Nothing seems to happen, but a readout begins blinking on bottom of the canopy - 'Active Camoflauge Online'.
"And we're effectively invisible." Josh keeps a tight lookout on the radar screen, though. Bobby had told him what it had been like when the Blackbird had been missiled on the way back from Boston. He hoped that he'd never have to go through anything like that, ever. "If something does get a lock on us by any chance, I should be able to accelerate out of the way, or knock it out of the sky with my TK." After a few uneventful minutes, they're skimming across recognizable buildings and structures.
Josh banks the ship, and brings it to a hover over their destination. "Here we are, everyone. The Capitol." The white building looms below them. "I was thinking that we could drop from the 'Bird onto the roof. I can land the ship behind the building remotely with my telekinesis, and then we don't have to worry about being seen on approach." He looks over at Bobby. "What do you think?"
Well, Warren. You might see me on tv tonight... Interesting how their roles were suddenly reversed. I think that... I love you. But I'm coming back, so it's okay. His hand goes unconsciously to his neck, but it bumps into one of the "X" symbols on his collar, and suddenly, everything seems much more real that it did a minute ago.

> "And we're effectively invisible."
Bobby grins. " Man that's cool. I want a personal one... think we can get Beast working on that?"
He nods at Josh's plan. " Sounds good to me. Though... Congress meets under the dome, right? So if you and, um, " he turns to Riley, interrupting himself "say, what do we call you in the field? standard mission protocol is codenames only, but..." he shrugs brusquely, "I don't know yours. 'Angel' is taken... we could call you 'Cherub', though!" He grins.
"Anyway, if the two of you can fly me, Rogue, and 'cat in through the roof and the forcefield while 'cat phases us -- can you phase all of us at once, 'cat? -- then we can drop into action before anybody even knows we're there. Or, if the situation inside is too weird to deal with, we fly right back out again and make some plans... with some luck they won't even notice us. Sound good?"

As the arrival was announced to those in the jet, Rogue's demeanor changed from the almost-asleep state she'd been in to a more alert one. She was almost emotionless, outwardly, yet still somehow carried an air of the anxiety she couldn't shake.

Rogue gave a small half-shrug and a nod. "Soun's fine, t'meh. If they do see us, w'gonna need s'me luck, though. Gonna get pretty crazy..."
She shifted in her seat, reajusting her glove and wincing barely as the leather aggrivated the cuts on her hand. She put that hand in her lap, using the other to tuck white strands of hair behind her ears, out of her face.

Kitty turned in her seat as Bobby addressed her. She had been pretty quite throughout the trip there, but now it looked like she would have to respond. Her eyes met Bobby's before she looked around at the bird. "Well I have been trying to phase more with me. i can give it a try at least. If I can get enough skin contact with the bird I should be able to do it."She sounded sure of herself but in fact was a bit worried about it. She had never tried to phase anything as big as this through anything else. And she wasn't sure where the forcefield started to begin with. It would be much harder to phase it for a long time not knowing if she could ahead of time.
She looked at the team again. it was easy to sit back and think she was just on another mission with the rest of the usual team. looking at them now she was brought back to reality and the realization that they were all kids trying to do this on their own. There was no backup or adult to pull them out of this if they messed up to bad. It was just them. Looking at Bobby again she wasn't sure about it at all, though she didn't show it. It wasn't that she didn't think he would be a good leader, it was just that she didn't know how she totally felt about following him into a situation in which all their lives were on the line. She couldn't help but wonder if they got into trouble if he would save one of them over the others.

Bobby grins, trying to fake a confidence he's not sure he can even recognize, let alone feel. " Nah... they're gonna need the luck, Rogue. Just try to leave something for the rest of us to do, OK? "
> "If I can get enough skin contact with the bird I should be able to do it."
" With the bird? " Bobby replies, sounding puzzled. " I don't follow... I meant, can you phase the five of us in after Impulse lands the Blackbird, if Impulse and, um, our cherub here fly the three of us down while you do it? If not, we can land on the roof and go in the slow way, or go in in shifts. "
He looks out the window as the scenery catches his eye, and the air around him grows a little colder. " All right... showtime, folks. Let's give these Congresscritters some mutant heroes to talk about, right? " Looking to Josh, he adds " On your cue, flyboy..."

> On your cue, flyboy...
Josh takes a deep breath. "Right. This is going to take quite a bit of concentration, you guys. Fine manipulation at that range is tricky."
He spins his seat over and keys in some commands, dropping the 'Bird still closer to the roof, and then unhooks his restraints and moves into the back of the cabin. Josh stands next to the boarding ramp, which is still up.
"Okay, everyone. We're about 7 feet above the roof... which you can still roll an ankle at. Be careful. As soon as everyone is off, I'm going to have to divert my total concentration to TK-ing the controls. So someone better watch my back..." He takes a deep breath and his hand hovers over the ramp release.
(OOC - first one out, NPC the ramp drop. Josh is the last out out unless someone takes too long. hee.)

Listening to Bobby, saying that she should practise getting changed faster, she nodded her head. Even though this was her first mission and she was in regular clothes instead of the uniforms everyone else was wearing, should be a bit of an exeption of why it took her so long, but she didn't care.
Riley paid close attention to what everyone was saying, so that she would know what they are doing. She heard Bobby talking about a codename for her, since Angel was already taken, he thought Cherub would be better. "Cherub is fine." she told him with a smile. Riley already knew everyone's codenames, even though she didn't know about Josh's until Bobby said it.
When they arrive, Riley unbuckled her seat belt and got up. She then walked over to the ramp, getting ready to get out, by letting her wings come out of her back and had it folded up, but ready to snap open. She wondered who she would be carrying, though she had a feeling she would be carrying two people, since Josh would be busy carrying a person and geting the jet landed carefully. "So who should I be carrying?" she asked them.

Bobby nods at Josh's cue and realizes it necessitates a slight change of plans. " OK, Imp - give me a second to deal with rooftop cameras and I've got your back."
He walks over to the ramp, standing next to Riley for a moment, and concentrates on the rooftop below. He's not sure where the cameras are, but he's pretty sure they have to be there, so he takes a broader approach... fortunately, they have some time. The air underneath the Blackbird fogs, then mists, then settles into a gentle snow-flurry depositing about half an inch of powdery white snow over the roof... not as hard as an ice-sheath, but more opaque.
" OK, ready to roll! And here I thought that snowcone trick wouldn't be good for anything," he calls over his shoulder as the boarding ramp drops down and he slides down onto the roof. Of course, if anybody's watching they'll wonder about the unseasonable weather, but that beats them noticing the five of us staging. And we only need a minute.
" Come on down, folks, and let Impy do his thing. Cherub - can you carry Kitty and Rogue? Josh, you take me when you're done with the plane. 'cat, I'll grab your hand and we'll see if you can phase all five of us through... if not, you head on down with Cherub and Rogue and distract the goons, and Impulse and me'll go in the hard way. Sound good? And be careful, everybody.

On her feet, now, Rogue's arms were wrapped around herself, crossed over her chest, but the gesture looked more like hugging herself than intended. She was just anxious, uneasy, and nausiated.
She gave a small nod to the instructions going out, and stepped nearer to the exit, glancing to the others standing there with a little bit of uncertiany, then down at the roof. Not a far drop, really. And there was no way she was going to be carried - she didn't liket he thought of contact, even through the leather of her uniform.
With a few mumbled swear words she wasn't entirely sure came from her, she jumped off, landing in some form of a roll, coming up on her knees in the thin layer of snow, no worse for the wear. Not a graceful landing, no, but just fine, otherwise.
Her hair was falling in her face, and there was snow in it. She batterd the white strands out of her face, and combed the fingers of one hand through it as she rose to her feet, and surveryed the roof, then the ground below.
Now that drop was a lot further, and there were people below, people trying to figure out a solution to this situation, unaware of the fact that they were on the way to save the day.
She moved away from the edge, towards where Bobby was, and stood nearby, waiting for further instruction with her arms crossed once again, looking up towards the plane.

Kitty stood walking to the ramp and looking down. "I got this covered." She said jumping down watching carefully as she descended. As she hit she rolled a bit using her phasing to stop her by letting only her hands phase through the roof. Once she had stopped she extracted her hands and stood once more.
She looked around at those that were already there. "I'm ready when you are. I'm pretty sure I can get us all in easily." she wasn't talking much still. It wasn't that she was particularly worried, it was just that she was taking it seriously and knew what she needed to do as well as had a few ideas of her own in the back of her mind.

Bobby soon walked over by her and started using his powers to take out the cameras. She also heard him telling her, that she would be carrying Rouge and Kitty, and Riley nodded her head. Not to long after he had told her that, he then jumped off the jet onto the roof.
Within a few moments, Rouge and Kitty came up and jumped off as well. They didn't land very gracefully, but they didn't hurt themselves. Riley walked all the way to the edge and just steped off of the ramp. Using her wings, she landed gracefully and on her two feet. She then let her wings fold up again, so she'll be ready to use them right away. Riley stood there waitting for their instructions.
