The United States Navel Yard, or at least one of them anyway. Located in one of the harbors just outside of New York and the target of Magneto's subtle yet attention getting plan. He had been laying dormant for far too long now and with his powers back to full capacity, he thought it was time to let his resurgence be known to the world. The United States government had grown to complacent in their supposed supremacy over mutants, what with their re-establishment of the mutant detainment camps and the talk of trying to pass the Mutant Registration Act once again, so, in all his typical gung-ho fashion, Magneto had taken it upon himself to show the governments of the world just who they were dealing with.
The ship yard was heavily guarded, no surprise there and no real problem considering almost everything here was made of metal. The entrance to the ship building facility was barricaded off with a twenty foot high stone wall, reinforced with steel rods and the front gate was chain link with barbed wire running the top. Soldiers shouldering assault rifles made their rounds of the perimeter and the water way where the ships where being built was being patrolled by destroyers and submarines, your typical defense set up. Of course, Magneto found all that supposed would be deterrents humorous, as only he would.
Magneto was hovering in the air, unseen as he lowered himself down in front of the main gate, decked out in all his purple and black glory and to the surprise of the guard there. With a wave of his hand, four or five soldiers found themselves flung back against the small guard shack which regulated traffic in and out of the ship yard. With a casually outstretched hand, Magnus focused on the fence and with a jerk of his hand, the chain link barricade was ripped from its track and tossed far behind him. Gunfire rang out at this time, but once again, stupid and foolish acts by desperate men. With a casual raise of his hand, Magnus deflected the bullets away from him in all sorts of directions, his face twisted in a smile of sorts.
With a flick of his fingers, the guns which the newly arrived guard carried, where flung to the side and a parked car not far from Magneto was raised into the air and flung at the crowd of men. With a laugh, Magnus slowly glided through the front gate, the steel pipe reinforcement of the concrete wall bending and moaning to his call, breaking free of the concrete and sending a good part of the wall crumbling to the ground. Bodies lay everywhere and the count only continued to rise as man after man was flung aside with just a split second thought from Magneto.
Stopping inside the ship yard, Magneto rose higher into the air, his arms crossed in front of him confidently. The barracks around him creaked as nails and pipes were ripped and jerked free to be flung out toward the very men who had confined them in their wooden prisons. The Master of Magnetism was back and with a vengeance and as usual, his Brotherhood was sure not to be far behind him.

It was a long and boring day, like usual. Riley sometimes wonders if she should really join into the school and actually take some classes, but she then thought about all the test and homework she would be getting and decided not to. Riley had spent most of her time wondering around the mansion and went into town for a bit, but she really just wanted to fly around. Though she knew that she couldn't do that, since people would be able to see her, since there was no a single cloud in the sky. So Riley decided to wait until the evening to go flying around.
Once night fell, Riley walked around outside a bit. She then soon let her wings come out of her back and extended her wings out fully. Within a minute, she up in the air and flying around. After circling the school a couple of times, just to get use to everything, she then headed towards town.
In the air, Riley felt so free and just let her wings take her where ever. After about half an hour, she soon noticed that she had came to a ship yard right under her. Looking down at it, she heard firing and commotion, knowing that it wasn't good. So she circled it to see what was going on, but couldn't really see to clearly since it was so dark. Riley then lowered herself closer to the ground and landed where the gate use to be.
Riley was in slight shock, seeing so many people injured. Letting her wings quickly go into her back, she quickly ran over to a few men. The ones that she had gotten to were already dead, and she knew she couldn't help them. She then began to check some of the others. Riley was able to find a man with a broken leg and was cruching beside. "What happened?" she asked him. Riley then placed a hand on his borken leg and healed it within a minute. When he say what she did, he kept his mouth shut, not answering her question, and quickly ran off in fear. Riley rolled her eyes. Of course. Always afraid of someone who heals you and don't even say thank you.
Getting up and moving to other people, Riley was able to help four other people, but mostly they were all dead. She soon made her way to try and find what was causing all of this. Turning a corner, Riley saw Magneto. She walked up close behind him. "So this is all you causing this?" she said to him, with her arms crossed over her chest.

Magneto glanced about him as the chaos seemed to pause momentarily and the homo sapiens seemed to fall back and be regrouping, formulating some ill conceived plan to be sure. Screams and orders where being barked out and sires began to wail and shriek their cries into the night sky. Overhead, the familiar *thump thump thump* of helicopter blades could be heard, "Won't they ever learn?," Magneto questioned himself as he caught sight of the spotlights mounted to the bottoms of the assault helicopters. With another sigh and a shake of his head, the lights on the helicopters where violently ripped from their bolted positions and brought crashing to the ground far below in an explosion of sparks and light.
Lowering himself to the ground, Magneto looked to the ground he was standing on and then with a low rumble, a large metal pipe was ripped from the asphalt and hoisted into the air, water spraying everywhere. The old man then quickly sent the pipe soaring through the air like some spear in the direction of a cruiser being built in the harbor, piercing the hull and leaving a large hole near the bow. Of course, all this "fun" was cut short by a familiar and soft voice from behind him. He turned around and quirked an eyebrow at the girl he recognized from the Institute, the day he had paid Charles' grave a visit. "A little late for the junior league to be up isn't it?," he asked with a chuckle as he pulled his cape around in front of him, draping it across his right arm.

When the pipe came out of the ground and went through a cruiser, she had really wished that she had control of her powers to be able to stop it. These are the times when she really hates herself for not having control over her powers, but she had to quickly push that a side as Magneto turned around. Riley watched his expression on his face, knowing that he has remembered her. She listened to his question as he chuckled a pulled his cape around him and having hanging over his right arm.
Riley continued standing there with her arms crosses. "Very funny. But I'm not considered as the junior league, I'm not even on the team." she told him planly. She still hadn't moved, but she watch as the men were trying to re-group. "I'm just known as the girl that is randomly living there." she said. Even though she was friends with most of the people there, she still wished that they would try to include her in things. She had lived there for years and it's just recently people are slowly taking notice of her and it was really starting to get to her.

"Just a girl living there....," he said repeating Riley's words with a look of sad pity, if you could call it that, "Is that all Charles' little legacy sees you as my dear?," he asked her, his tone rather casual considering all the chaos going on around him. Magneto had grown used to such violent actions, at a very young age, plus having the gift for leadership that he had, the old man had learned how to remain calm in times of intense pressure. He eyed Riley, waiting for her answer, trying to gage her reaction to him and his words, seeing if her body language would betray her forced words. The decision to address her as he did would not have been made if it wasn't for the way she had answered his first question. She reminded him of Pyro, of the way he had seemed that first time that they had met, unsure of where he belonged.
Bullets whizzed through he air and to displeasure of the one firing them, they were easily cast aside by Magneto's immense power over magnetism. He chose to protect both he and Riley, showing her he wasn't the complete monster that those back at the Institute made him out to be, "Still up for defending the homo sapiens little one?," he said as he flicked his wrist, sending a jeep soaring through the air and into a small group of soldiers who had just rounded a corner one of the buildings.

Once she had mentioned that she was a girl living there, she heard Magneto repeat it. He seemed to have said it in a pity voice. Riley didn't know why, but she actually felt comfortable around him and could almost tell him anything, like several girls gossiping, or a little girl telling her daddy what she had been up to that day. But she didn't want to give away all the information about her.
"The truth is, I have no idea what he had expected of me. Except the fact of helping me with my powers grow like everyone else." she told him calmly and planly. She didn't want to show any of her emotions to him and prove that she is stronger then what she looks. While standing there, she noticed bullets coming towards them, and with a flick of his hand, they went into another direction away from them. Even though he could of let some of the bullets hit her, it didn't happen, and she wondered why.
Soon Magneto asked her is she was still up for defending the humans. Then he sent a jeep to a group of soldiers rounding the corner. Riley knew they were already dead and she couldn't help them, but she could of stopped Magneto sending the jeep at them, if she only had control over her powers. "What if I am?" she asked him calmly, trying to show no emotion for the men that he had killed, keeping it down deep inside her.

"Helping your powers grow? I'm sure that was exactly what he had in mind," Magneto said in dry arrogant style, "Charles was well known for that wasn't he? Tell me, did he help you like he did poor Jean Grey? Locking her mind up and sealing her ability away, afraid of not being the strongest anymore?," he asked, trying to sway Riley's thinking, doing his best to sow the seeds of doubt in her young mind. Magneto was a good friend to Charles Xavier, but even they had strongly different opinions of one another.
Turning around, he waved his hand around, "They hate us all. They build detainment camps, design drugs which are to "cure" us and then when we don't line up to take our medicine, they put that so called cure in a gun and force it upon us!," he said a bit louder at the end as he reached his hand up and made up fist, crushing one of the helicopters into a ball of twisted metal and fire, before tossing it toward the ocean. "They won't stop," he said as he glanced over his shoulder, speaking more calmly now, "until all of us are either dead or made their slaves. So I say strike first and take what is rightfully ours." With that said Magneto began to slowly walk toward the harbor, his intentions all to clear as he eyed the large metal ships anchored there and the all too dangerous payloads which the nuclear submarines carried as well.

Riley noticed the tone in Magneto's voice as he spoke to her. She knew they were very good friends, but they just believed in different things. She listened to him as he ask her if Professor Xavier had treated her the same way he had treated Jean. "No, actually. I didn't have several personalities like Jean Grey, so he didn't worry about me getting stronger." she told him. She remembered her lessons with him as he taught her how to control her powers, but now she can't remember the methods he used to help her. Riley also remembered hearing about Jean, and the the Professor helped her put mental blocks in her mind to keep Phonix out.
Then Magneto turned around with his back to her again. She listened to him as he spoke about the humans and his voice was begining to raise. She had heard what had happened at Alcatraz when Magneto got shot with the cure by one of the X-men. Riley then noticed that she he was distroying more things. She really wanted to stop him, but she didn't have the power to do it. Then Magneto looked over his shoulder at her, telling her that the humans wont stop and would continue coming at them, until they were dead or working for them. It was sad to say, but Riley was actually agreeing with it, but she wasn't going to let Magneto know that, and she knew it was wrong. But deep down inside, she kind of agrees with Magneto's methods and would want to be apart of it and help, but all the voices in her head were telling her not to.
Magneto began to walk towards the ships and Riley followed him, but still kept a distance. " What if they were able to stop and let us live in peace among them, with no more war between us? Then would you continued fighting and killing them or would you stop?" she asked him. With Riley, she tends to be constintly thinking and always has a lot of what if's going through her head.

Magneto stopped for a moment, giving Riley's question some thought. He had himself thought about that one feeble reality where his kind and the homo sapiens lived together. Such ideas where foolish, at least to Magneto for he had seen the atrocities of bigotry and fear and had been a victim twice now but now more. Of course, Magneto wasn't a warmongering monster, at least not entirely, he wanted peace but knew that war had to come first. He furrowed his brow a bit and his face showed some sort of internally conflict, although this would be unseen as how he had his back to Riley.
Magneto thought about what had happened to him as a child and then as a young man and father. The story Mystique had told him about her childhood and parents resurfaced as well as did others such as Pyro and Sabertooth. Could he really let all that go, all those atrocities? Maybe. "If that were possible my dear, I would gladly turn my back on war altogether and disappear somewhere safe to live out what I have left of my life," he said as he levitated himself off the ground, "but you and I both know the homo sapiens would never allow that dream...their nightmare," he said as he slowly continued off in his determined direction again.

Right after Riley had asked Magneto that question, he had stopped right away. She wondered if he was thinking about it and the possibilities. After about a few minutes of silence, well silence from him, since there were people still running around and a lot of other noises. Magneto then soon spoke, saying that if it was possible that he would stop trying to start a war and go on with what ever life he had left. Soon he levitated off the ground, and continued on speaking to her, saying that they both knew that would never happen, and soon continued on towards some ships.
Riley quickly let her wings come out of her back and with no effort at all was in the air. She then followed him, now a little more closer. Riley knew he was right, but she is the person that would always try to hold onto the slightest hope. All of a sudden Riley flew up high into the air, went over Magneto and stopped before him, but still in the air with her wings keeping her up. "Of course they wouldn't allow use to have that dream! With what your doing now isn't helping at all! Distorying everything and killing everyone! No wonder their afriad of us and want us gone!" she told him, not exactly yelling at him, but close to it. Riley didn't know where all of that came from, but she felt slightly good about it. She remembered her past and it was good, but there were some people that helped her and knew what she was. The only sad part about that was they were dead.

Magneto gave a slight huff, he didn't have time to babysit and hold hands of fledgling mutants, especially not right now. Usually he never passed up a chance to recruit someone to his side, but right now, other circumstances dictated a new law. The homo sapiens were in a state of chaos and confusion and the longer he stood here, having a tea party with Riley, the more organized and prepared they became. Surprise was his and he could not let it slip away, especially when others where depending on his distraction.
"They are afraid of us, because they know themselves all too well," he said with a simple tilt of his head and somber voice, "My people sat around once and I with them and look where it got us......," he said as a mental flash of the concentration camp burned across his mind, "I will not sit back when I can do so much to stop this holocaust from ever happening," he said with so much conviction and surety in his voice that it was hard to argue otherwise. If one could stop a war from happening, a war which could claim millions, by killing a few hundred thousand lives....well.....would they?

After saying what she had said to Magneto, she watched him for a reaction. At the moment he seemed to be getting tired talking to her and was getting more interested in distroying and killing. Eventually he did spoke and Riley listened. At the end of it, Riley had to look away. Why she had to look away was because he was right. Everyone had sat back before and the hate continued to grow for them and she hated it.
Riley wasn't sure what to say. She really didn't want to have to agree with him and tell him that he was right and show him that she really is weak, but then at the same time she did and wondered if he could possibly help her. She also had the feeling that if had asked her if she wanted to join the Brotherhood and that he would help her with her powers, that she might say yes. But Riley wanted to stay faithfull to the X-men, since they had allowed her to live with them for so long and had helped her before, but she just didn't feel welcomed there anymore. Riley still floated there in the air not looking at Magneto and still trying to find something to say.

Riley gave herself away from the very second she looked away from Magneto. The old man was far too sharp and sly to miss something this simple and obvious and certainly wouldn't let an opportunity like this to slip by him. Riley was an affiliate of the Institute and connected to the X-Men in some way, so if Magneto could recruit her to the Brotherhood, that would be a boost to morale plus give him a needed edge over his foes. Of course, pulling the young girl in would still take a bit of tact and effort, but Magneto felt he could do it without too much effort, after all, she was a mutant just as he was and therefore she had to feel some kinship with him.
Raising himself higher into the air, Magneto was now face to face with Riley. "Come with me my dear and I will show you a place where you truly belong," he said to her as he tilted his head forward and smiled at her, warmly and genuinely. Of course, such words might have seemed strange considering the atmosphere around the two of them and Magneto caught onto this as well. He looked around, taking in the deeds of his own handiwork and rage, giving a sigh. "Do not fret for them my dear, for what they would do to one as pretty as you is too horrible to mention," he said as he extended his magnetic bubble around them both, deflecting more bullets. Holding out his hand, Magneto took his chance, "Come my dear," was all he said as he waited for Riley to take his offer.

A lone figure watched from his hovering position as things escalated between Magneto and the Naval Base Guards. He had watched as they fought with futile efforts to stop the Master of Magnetism. Fools, you would have thought they would have learned by now. Magneto+Metal=Disaster.
No wonder they called themselves homo superior. He had also watched as an angelic looking girl conversed with Magneto. All the while, bullets had whizzed through the air, striking invisible barriers of magnetic field. The powers of the old man were remarkable to say the least, but to still have complete control at his age...amazing. He could crush helicopters as simply as if he were a child playing with little figures.
His name was Nitrous. A code name he had taken long before as he discovered his talents. At the moment, if you happened to look upon him, you would have thought that you were crazy. A man, seemingly on fire, but not the regular orange flames, but flames of blue and silver. Well, they weren't really flames, but super heated nitrous oxide. His mutation granted him quite a few abilities, flying was just one of them.
He was getting bored now, being how Magneto had stopped his destructive path and was now soley conversing with the angel-girl. Nitrous decided to have a closer look. He hovered down from his vantage point, which was about one hundred yards away, and landed on the Naval Base grounds.
He looked at Magneto with a questioning look in his facial expression. The soldiers hadn't ceased their fire yet, and were now turning their aim towards him. Bullets went through his nitrous based form. He could become solid if he wished, but if he did, he would have been a bullet ridden corpse.
"So, what's the plan boss?"

It was quiet for a bit, apart from the bullets flying by, and the men shouting orders. Riley could tell that Magneto was thinking about something, but she wouldn't know, because of his helmet and also because of her powers not working so well. Soon she was able to sense that he had gotten closer to her, but Riley still hadn't looked back at him. Then Riley heard him talking to her, offering her to come with him and he would show her where she truely belonged.
So many things went running through he mind. Most of it saying that she should turn him down and that she already knew about the world that he was talking about. But the main thing about Riley, she never felt like she belonged anywhere. The whole time she was at the mansion was because the Professor told her that she could stay there, until she was able to find her own place and wish to leave, but Riley was never able to find a place, and only was allowed to live there out of pity.
Then there was this tiny voice in her, that was slowly getting louder by the second. Soon it was screaming in her mind, not allowing any of the other thoughts she had to be heard. That thought was telling her to join him, see the world that he was talking about with her own eyes, and hope to find the place that she really belongs too.
Riley finally looked up at Magneto, with a small smile on her face. "I would really like to see the place that I truely belong to." she told him. For some reason Riley felt slightly different, but couldn't really explain it. She thought that maybe with this change, that her powers would be able to grow and that she would be able to control them again.
Once Riley had answered Magneto, and guy with what looked like blue flames all around him. As soon as she heard him asking Magneto what the plan is, she knew right away that he was a Brotherhood member.
