Josh swings open the doors onto the balcony behind the Mansion, towel in hand. He silently stalks down the stone steps and makes his way across to the pool.
He'd just been in the Danger Room with the team, and had been violently 'KO'd' in an explosion he'd been unable to contain with his powers. Both he and Bobby had been 'killed' at the same time, which made him feel even worse for failing. So here he was, angry. And wanting to burn off some frustration. Arriving at the pool, he tosses his towel onto a chair and turning, smashes his foot into the base of a chaise lounge.
"Damn it!" With a thrashing motion of his hand, the chair catapaults itself across the concrete and into a hedge. Seemingly deciding that the chair hasn't suffered enough, he jerks his head in its direction and it pops up again, landing across the way on the grass.
Josh grumbles under his breath and plops down onto the cement edge, dangling his feet over into the water. I need to calm down... A sudden thought pops into his head. He stands back up and reaches out with his powers, concentrating as he lifts a foot over the edge and slowly makes contact with the surface. He lifts the other foot over and well, here's the moment of truth.
It works, and after a minute or so he's 'standing' on the surface of the water in the middle of the pool. He's still furious, but the accomplishment has drained away his immediate rage. I need to work on that. Bad things happen when I get mad... he thinks of last time and his conversation with Bobby. Ack. I actually broke a lightbulb. A small snicker escapes him at that, but he takes a deep breath in, trying to control his frustration. It's not working very well.
