I have an OC character that I would like to adapt into this story. I have two different histories for her since I play her on other sites as both from a comic book background (Pangea is her origin) and a real world background.
Please advise as to which one you'd rather see. It says this is post X3, so I assume the second is better. So, I have a question. Can I use SHIELD as part of her history? It would come into play with her story, but it wouldn't be a place she HAS to go back to. It would be only part of her past. If not, I completely understand.
This key element is going to be what drives her personality to whatever edges of the universe I decide to take her.
Thank you for your time.

Hey First off thanks for your interest in 100m. I'm Pyro, commonly known as the 'evil' admin. Josh is the 'good' 'adorable' 'cuddly' admin. Given that this is filmverse not comicverse, I'd have to say the real-world background is probably better, yes (we've already had to shoot down applics with Genoshan characters, for example). With relation to SHIELD... You'll have to forgive me being quite vague and just giving preliminary advice here, because I'd need to consult with The Good Admin and The Canon Goddess (Toni), but here goes: As a straight comic-book transplant, we have a slight problem in that we've just introduced Nick Fury as an NPC'd Strikeback agent in our Invasion plot arc (Strikeback being "a multinational covert project with the goal of assembling forces, tactics, technologies, etc. to track and “neutralize” mutant enemies. Officially, this is a response option only, in case of mutants starting an all-out race war" - more details here, Nick Fury's grand entrance here). As far as having her origin involve 'a counterterrorism and intelligence agency' goes... I'd have to judge on the individual applic as to how it was rationalised, worked into the backstory etc etc... because you could do it really well, or (not wishing to cast doubt, you understand) it could be horrifically Sue-ish, or anything in between. I'd be tempted to suggest a non-US background (e.g. tying her to something more like STRIKE or a non-US SAFE) to make handwaving over why SHIELD haven't played more of a role in what we've seen of Film-verse thus far easier, but again you could pull this off in your backstory... I'd say post the applic, with the backstory as your 'ideal' version. What would usually happen then is that Josh, Toni and I would 'get together' (through the wonders of OOC contact) and discuss how well we think the character fits into our verse, and suggest compromises that could be made if we have any problems. Erm, any other thoughts, people?

I'm not shy as to point out exactly why I would like to involve Nick into my history. It would allow me to have a conflict in her mind about who she is for real. It would allow me to place a fear of needles in her story that would eventually be learned that she had a past with SHIELD as an assasin. With her memory swiped, I can allow her character to develop when the nightmares of the needles start to introduce her past and give her emotional conflict. The needles would be there as she was tortured prior to SHIELD with another organization that needs to an evil group of people. I would explain more in the history.
If you don't want me to use SHIELD, I don't mind at all. It's just that I'm not sure what emotional battle to instill within her expect the fact she hates humans for another reason, which I would explain in the history as without SHIELD.
I hope this makes sense and if you need to consult, please go right ahead.

Hi! So, I'm not an app-reviewer but since I'm handling Nick in the Invasion arc that Pyro mentioned, and Project: Strikeback is largely my brainchild, I suppose I should weigh in.
I'm going to have to nix SHIELD or anything strictly similar to it (that is, any global intelligence/covert agency specifically targetted to mutant/superhuman affairs) as part of character backstory, since we've established that as of December 2006 no such agency exists in the 100m-verse. (In fact, one of my intentions at the end of this arc is to create SHIELD, hence introducing Nick as a US Army soldier.)
That said, of course a variety of covert and overt intelligence, military, and counter-terrorism groups exist in the 100m-verse, just as they do in real life... CIA, NSA, FBI, Homeland Security, etc., just to pick U.S. organizations, plus their equivalents in other countries. I'm not quite sure what you want to do with SHIELD in your backstory, but I expect that whatever it is you can do it with one of those. (If you want to use Nick specifically, we can probably arrange that in his capacity as soldier, as long as we're on the same page about his character -- the comics write him a lot of different ways; I'm handling him here as a basically decent guy.)

Ok, thank you. Please look at the application. I will change it to specify a different organization if they powers that be would like and a different man from that organization.
