[[Eh, I wanted to start this off and I have no idea who's on this team. I've put in the ones that I know will be on it, but if you wanna join, let me know and I'll edit you in.]]
Thanks to Vanisher, they were able to be transported to just over half a mile from the defence perimeter, their target. They’d have been dropped off closer, but there was too much of a risk that they’d be detected before they could start their diversion. They had fifteen minutes before Warren’s team would come swooping in for the main attack.
The plan was pretty simple, as it usually was for her team.
Get in. Smash stuff. Get out.
That was Toni’s specialty and it was also something that her other team mates excelled at.
Her team consisted of herself and five others. Any more and she’d have a hell of a time keeping track of them all. A little voice tugged at the back of her mind, reminding her that three of those four people were some very important men in her life, two of whom had miraculously appeared from the past when their present counterparts had died years ago. And she was also working with younger self, something she’d been hesitant about, but had reluctantly agreed. Toni, no matter her age, was powerful and determined when given a task, and she knew her younger self could be trusted. The only disadvantage that ‘mini-Toni’ (as she had been dubbed around the base) had was that she was no where near as strong as she would eventually be. To avoid confusion, mini-Toni was keeping her normal codename, but the older Toni would be taking on the name Ferrous.
“Alright, listen up. Titan and Werewolf, you’re going ahead as scouts. If you spot anything that doesn’t belong—and I mean anything, I don’t care if it’s a bloody butterfly—you let me know. Do not engage anyone without my consent.” [/b]She turns the rest of her team. “Rockslide, you bring up the rear. Warhead, as soon as we reach the perimeter, you’re gonna blow off a giant chunk of the perimeter.” Matthew blinks.
“I am?” Toni had to remind herself that this Matthew was still learning to control his abilities and hadn’t tried to perform such…specific…tasks. She’d foolishly forgotten that, but if it was going to be a problem, then she’d deal with it when they reached the perimeter.
“Yeah, you are. S’simple stuff compared to what you used to do. And don’t worry about radiation poisoning; we’ve got supped up rad-kits back at the base.” Toni looks back at the rest of her team. “Personal safety is key here folks. We’re probably going to be heading in against a couple of Class 2 defence teams—“ She pauses, noting the blank looks she gets from Matthew and mini-Toni. “Big guys, big guns, maybe a sentinel or two, and Cure grenades flyin’ like bats outta hell.”
“Oh my poor creative and random statements. I’ll miss you when I get old.” Mini-Toni moans, earning a quick glare from her older self.
“If it gets hot, we get out. No one takes risks they can’t handle, especially not when the whole fuckin’ space-time continuum might implode. Got it?” She looks for the nods before gazing to where the lights from the camp can be seen in the distance. “Alright, let’s move.” Elliot, let Warr know what we’re on the move. Got it boss.
