Given the recent post in the mall, I thought that I should open a thread to discuss it on the plot board. Here's my view: anyone should be able to post whatever they want, within reason, as long as it's not affecting other people's characters. After talking to Terra for a few moments about this, she seemed to be intending that someone (ie, Institute or Brotherhood) could come rescue her from the problem. That's not a bad idea, but I think that we should discuss whether this is a thread that the rest of the board is interested in doing. Judging from the situation, I could see this getting as big as: Invasion of Congress: This thread occurred in Fall 2006 and had Rogue, Bobby, Josh, Kitty, and Riley (who, I'm afraid, is no longer with us) liberate the US Congress from a hostage situation. Times Square Riot: In this thread, the Brotherhood interrupted a large anti-mutant riot in NYC. The X-Men intervened and it ended up being a pretty wild battle royale. So, I could see this getting as large as either of those arcs, and we all discussed those before they began. On another note, a mutant caving in a public area and killing a bunch of innocent people also tips us more in the direction of the dystopian future as portrayed in Days of Future Past, which is something that the X-Men are currently trying to reverse. This kind of situation is something that might bring back the Mutant Registration Act. Therefore, it may or may not be able to be worked into the overall plot. The other thing that I should point out, as board moderator and administrator, is that IC actions have IC consequences. Whether Terra was being attacked or not, she did cave in the mall and probably killed a lot of innocent people. Our world is post-movieverse, and stuff that would pass by without a blink in the comics has serious ramifications in the movies world. Such as, you know, getting shot by terrified NYPD officers. So, thoughts?

For one, this would be advanced past the plot involving Danny going wolf-insane. So that would reveal all the consequences before we are finished, just as a note. There may be some problems with that depending on how long it takes us to wrap everything up.
Secondly, I treat these situations like live ones. All I really have to say is that I'm not going to be blasè about it. I want to point out that right now Terra looks like a potential mutant terrorist, and a SWAT team has no problem doing what they have to. The mall collapsing is not a separate entity from the rest of the city. It will bring down power lines, cut some water pipes, destroy other foundations, possibly fall into a subway station, and not to mention that it will injure if not kill lots of people--not just a mere handful that we assume will not be missed by anyone.
I'm not condemning your topic in any form or fashion, but I think it's only fair that you know what you're getting into.
Emotional response or not, she doesn't have much going for her right now, but if that's what you want, consider the colossal impact this will have.

I am not overlooking anything just so you all know. I know the major impact this will have, thus why I created it. I am only interested in storylines that come across as amazing, so anything that needs to be taken with any SWAT teams, etc etc, I have no problem with. I will have Terra defend herself if she is attacked, based off of emotion for when she undergoes a state of fear or anger, well, you've already seen that occur with the mall sinking.
Right now I'm planning on Terra remain in her protective earthen armor, which will blend in with most of the destructive environment. That being said, due to fear of coming out and being attacked she will remain in there unless 'saved' by either the Institute or the Brotherhood or any other groups that come into play.

It should be known that on this site I don't pull my punches. I'm a ruthless bitch and I'm fully willing to admit it.
I'm not treating this situation any different.
In my far less than humble opinion, this whole mall thread is too big, too extreme, and too much to have done without the consent of the entire site. Your character is beyond powerful and I think you need to tone it down a few dozen notches. I applaud your audacity.
You should have brought this topic up in the plot lab so that we could all discuss this. Hell, I've been wanting to nuke 4 square city blocks (which would result in the death of my character) for ages now but out of respect I've held back because the site wasn't prepared for it.
I'm completely with the whole consensus that if we're going to do this, we're going to do it right. There are gonna be bullets and flailing governments and some serious ass-kicking (and not the good kind of ass-kicking). There might even be arresting and power-dampening which would seriously inhibit your character. This thread could very well play out to the point of killing your character, because there's no way she's that bulletproof. If my character can get hurt (and she's the most durable character on this site), yours can too.
Play this is wisely if you still want to do it, but be prepared to take suggestions and plot changes from us. If it were up to me, I'd take that post and delete it or store it away for later, when we're all prepared to do something that big.

So, Terra, I do want to compliment you on taking the initiative to start a plot arc. To me, it sounds like the biggest complaint is that it's likely to be a large thread with far-reaching consequences, and that kind of thing is usually discussed in-group ahead of time. Now you know - you're new. Not the end of the world.
I was thinking that it might be fun to take this as a request from SHIELD for the X-Men to help out in the midst of a natural disaster - perhaps the ones that were closest to Terra didn't actually make it out, so, presumably, it's viewed as some kind of earthquake or sinkhole. Colonel Fury asks the X-Men (there's nothing like people who can lift tons to hurry up a rescue) for assistance, and so we can send a team.
I was also wondering if Terra might be more suited for the Brotherhood. She seems to have some anger issues - and seemed to bond with Sherridan- so maybe she might help revitalize the group? Something to think about. Just because the X-Men are there doesn't mean that she has to go with them.
Who's interested in the X-Men Super Natural Disaster Rescue Squad? I could send Josh along...

Alrighty, when I have a chance I'll kick off the X-Men's arrival, since it sounds like we have at least 3 interested in the thread! Anyone else interested, please leave a postie.
