Name:
Veronica Faith Devereux
Codename:
Lake.
Age:18 (May 5th/ 1990)
Mutation:
Being the daughter of parents who were both mutants, she was bound to inherit both of their mutations. From her father, she inherited her ability to the control the elements, or at least some of them. She has fully mastered the ability to control two of the four major elements, water and air.
When controlling water, she manipulate it into just about anything, and she can also change the form of it, from water to ice, ice to gas and back. The only problem is, when she morphs it into ice, she cannot yet move it, she can only change it's state. When it changes to a gas, however, she uses her air ability to control it. When she uses her air ability, she is able to focus the molecules so closely together that when moved, they create a blade like object, capable of cutting through most things, such as wood and ice, and can cut partially through cement, although it dissipates after a while. Much like her water ability, Veronica can mold the air into things desired, such as small daggers or bow and arrows.
Veronica has also been know to project water from her hands, although it takes alot of energy out of her.
She can also create small wind blasts to throw at people, and she can control the wind currents around her to create small platforms that she can use the "fly" on, or she can use the currents to create temporary force fields. What she can do with the other two elements will be found out through training. It is unknown if she inherited her mother's telekinetic ability, or her father's extra ability of control over electricity as well. She is classified as a 3-4 level mutant.
Physical Description:
Standing at 5'7 and weighing only 138lbs, many people underestimate Veronica, thinking of her as a girly girl and a weakling. Dirty-blonde hair falls to the small of her back, and a wave has formed just after her hair comes out of her scalp, causing that section of her hair to hang low over one of her two sapphire blue eyes, giving her an air of mysteriousness. With a heart shaped face and plump lips, Veronica is neither skinny nor "voluptuous" she is curvy, otherwise being shaped like an hour glass.
Not exactly proud of her breasts, although many others, if they were her, they would. She can fill out a C-cup, and is on the verge of wearing a D-cup, she claims she is too "small" and wishes she was larger. No matter the occasion, she also seems to wear a cocktail dress of some sorts, usually some shade of blue or indigo. The dresses are mostly shoulder less, with a V-neck plunge, and a slit on the left side that travels up to just below her thigh. Being of French origin, she has a light caramel complexion, a contrast to her eye and hair.
Personality:
One word to describe Veronica is femme fatale.
Veronica loves to be seductive around men, straight or gay, and she loves to toy with their emotions. Why this is is a mystery. She can use her "charm" as she calls it, in battle, trying to distract her opponents ,if male, to pay attention to her physical being, leaving her open for an attack. She also likes to get men hot and bothered, and them leave them hanging.
Not completely quite and friendly, Veronica can and most likely be the first person to make a quip or joke about something said about another human being or item. The problem with her quips is that she, on occasion, blurts them out accidentally, which has gotten her in trouble with many a people.
When first meeting a person, she can come off as rude and harsh, she can sometimes tear people apart. Although some people don't like her, when they get past the bitchiness and cruel comments, she is actually a caring person who can stand up for people or things that she believes need to be defended, even if the derogatory and negative comments are directed to someone else.
Background:
Born in Paris, France into a wealthy family, being the middle sibling of three, Veronica was one of two children to develop their parent's abilities. Her and her younger sister,Carrie, developed their father's ability to control the elements, and Carrie also inherited her mother's telekinetic ways. This upsetted their older sister, Lily, who made her siblings the brunts of her cruel intentions, and ultimately bossing them around like subordinates.
When she was 3, Veronica first gained her ability to control the element of water. After a dispute with Lily about her not being able to come to the "big girl party", Veronica became so upset that, when she looked at the large pitcher of water on the table, the water shot out of the glass and into her sister, ruining her clothes. As her sister stood up, Veronica busted into an uncontrollable fit of laughter, which caused her sister to storm off to their grandparents house, which was directly across the street.
At the tender age of 6, her father began to train her and her sister, who already had mastered her telekinetic ability, how to control their mutations, starting with the simple task of moving water back and forth. This was one of the easiest tasks that they learned. The step after that was changing it to form what the girls desired. Carrie created a large Barbie doll, and Veronica turned it into the form of a horse. By the age of 9, the girls began to learn how to change the state of the liquid they controlled, but their father dropped that for unknown reasons, so the only ability they have to is to turn the liquid to a frozen or gaseous state and then back.
By the age of 13, her and her sister were beginning to practice with each other, strengthening their bond with each other, and being able to fight together. Their father began to teach them how to control the air around them, making it tangible and deadly. When she reached the age of 14, her family moved to the US, where her father had heard there was an institute for mutants. At age 15, Veronica was picked on after someone had figured out she was a mutant. Much like what happened with her sister, she was picked on and teased, and on numerous occasions, verbally abused.
When she was 16, her father finally located the Xavier Institute, and she was sent their immediately. Her sister staid behind until their parents were sure that the institute was the right place for them to train and become stronger. At the institute, Veronica made friends with other mutants, something she hadn't done before, and she started her studies as a student of the Xavier Institute.

Veronica sat on her bed,her head and back rested against the wall as she read the thin book in her hands. The title had warn off after dozens of years of use, but Veronica liked it. Her eyes scanned the pages like a hawk finding a small mouse, and every minute or two she would flip the page. Each turn of the page brought her deeper and deeper into the book, so deep that at one point, she was oblivious to the fact that a bell had rung, signaling it was time for a class. After the ringing had stopped, she stood from her bed, book still in hand, and left her room.
She walked the empty hallways, heading outside toward the fountain. The sky above was cloudless, and the sun shined on everything it could. Veronica made her way to a bench near the fountain, and she sat comfortably with her knees hugged against her chest, the book resting on top. The surface of the fountain water rippled slightly as it seemed to shift toward her, about an inch or two. That was normal for her, but it got annoying at times. She turned her head to look at the water in the fountain, which was slowly making its way to one side of the fountain, leaving the other empty. She raised her hand and made the "shoo shoo" motion, which caused the water to creep back to its original position.
