Name:
Terra Moonscar
Codename:
Quake
Age: 14
Mutation:
Terra has the distinct ability to manipulate the earth around her, in the form of offensive and defensive tactics when it comes to harnessing her mutation. Primarily, Terra struggles with the destruction her power can cause when not in control, usually occurring when her emotions are in high instability. The young girl's ability permits her to fuse herself together with the earth that surrounds her, and can cover herself in protective rock or whatever soil is used for the combination of her own body, and the element. Once accomplished, she can manipulate the rock into launching shards of the manipulated earth from her body into designated targets. Currently, the most Terra has been able to succeed with is joining herself with a semi-dense rock form, and blasting small rocks from her palms. In the past, Terra's ancestors have shown that they had harnessed this ability as well, though going to more advanced forms, being able to ravish their opponents with heavy earthen spikes, without even having to release the element from their own body, merely controlling the earth's movement beneath their feet. Due to Terra's orphaned past, she has no idea clue about her ancestors, and her insecurities cause her to harm others accidentally with this gift. It is clear that this young girl needs training both mentally and physically if she ever wishes to become adept in her abilities.
Physical Description:
Terra is 5'6 with a weight of 120 pounds. Her body shape is slender, and her skin is relatively pale. The young girl's blond hair is long, usually a few inches passed her shoulders. Her eyes are a dark brown, many can barely see her pupils. Terra regards herself as weak, due to her being more slow and not as strong as the rest of the students in the public high school she attends.
Personality:
Terra is a timid, shy, quiet child. Her orphaned past makes her cold and hard, her emotions constantly unstable. She has a difficulty making friends with the other students, for they regard her as a freak for her clumsiness, her weakness, and her uneducated mind. Terra is very fearful to intimidation, and will often do as other people order her, scared to get hurt by these rude individuals that torture her every day of her life calling her horrible names and mocking the death of her parents. Her mind is very fragile, and she cries almost all of the time. A protective barrier she has set up, never allowing even her half-hearted foster parents into her troubled mind.
Background:
Terra was born on the first of April in the plains of South Dakota, on a bright sunny day where the grass was green, the flowers a multi-color oriented beauty. As she was raised by her two loving parents, she grew to love nature and all of it's inhabitants, the flowers, the animals, the air. It was all a deep passion for the kind, lively-hearted child. However, up until the age of six, Terra would never contain any knowledge of the true terror her parents would get themselves into. One fateful night, Terra and her parents went out for a bite to eat from a very fancy restaurant for the young girl's birthday. After they had eaten, and the child had received the present for her sixth birthday, the three had retreated from the dining place and walked through the streets toward their long-stretch, white limo, her family was fairly rich after all, due to her father's work in rocket science and his many discoveries. However, twenty feet from their automobile a man in a hooded cloak appeared, grasping ahold of Terra's father's neck, launching him into a nearby brick wall. The figure then retrieved a switch-blade from his belt, stabbing deeply into that of the mother's chest. The young girl screamed in fright, wailing as she tried to rush to her mother, however as the figure and her father fought, a gun was revealed and Terra's father had died after the sound of a explosive bang! As Terra's two most precious people layed uselessly upon the blood-stained cement ground, all she could do was hover over the bodies, crying intensely. The figure...had vanished.
For the next eight years, Terra would go from orphanage to orphanage, foster home to foster home, never knowing what truly happened that dark night. Never knowing why that man had savagely killed her loving parents who were popular to all. She would never know the true meaning of love again, and her mind was bottled up, containing so many sorrows that Terra could just not seem to release. Her soul had been hardened, and her heart and mind were merely a fragile piece of stone. She would enroll in a public high school, however she was always the one picked on. Always the one teased and tormented every day by the intimidation of those who were disgusted by her presence. Terra was nothing but trash to them. One day in the cafeteria she would be tripped, dumping her food all over that of the Cheer-leading Squad, and in retaliation they bruised and scratched, punched and kicked. Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. The pain was too much...the agony, Terra's powers manifested at that moment. Her hands had melded with the floor beneath her, rifts appearing in the floor, the ceiling falling apart upon the ones who had mocked her. Terra's rage was known that moment in time. After she had severely harmed most of the students, Terra regained control of her emotions and ran in terror for what she had done. She would now live on the streets, hiding, not knowing who would be able to take care of her now, and bewildered by what she had done to many of those innocent students.
Current Affiliation
Unaffiliated
(Has no knowledge of the X-men or Brotherhood, and if either were to request her to join, she would most likely oblige in fear of retaliation or just admiring the idea of others wanting her to be apart of something.)
Sample:
Terra bellowed a scream of terrible rage, her hands sinking into the floor beneath her, her eyes shading to a dull black. Suddenly, as the Cheerleaders started to back away in fear of what was occurring, the ground beneath the students shook violently, causing rifts and quakes throughout the building, the ceiling tearing itself apart and collapsing down upon the ones who had mocked the young girl. After fifteen seconds of horror, Terra's emotions regained stability, her hands had been retrieved, and she gazed around in bewilderment to what had just happened.
In fear for what she had done, Terra stood up instantly, running in the opposite direction from the main entrance, jumping through a large hole in the brick wall, and sprinting down the streets as fast as she possibly could, never turning to look back at the chaos that had erupted only moments ago.
