More brotherhood planning (everyone please)

[Primer]

So, Fate of Magneto seems to have been permanently archived. Magneto is dead, Mysti and Eliot are gone and on moveth the Brotherhood.

Here's what I'm thinking.

-Primer takes over as head of the organization and begins therapy sessions with Bobby which probably won't be RPed out. We'll mostly leave it at we know what he knows.

-Sherridan/Ferus is sent on a covert intelligence gathering mission which will keep him away until hs handler gets back to computer access. Ideas on exactly what intelligence he's gathering are welcome though I'mn sure DSD or I will come up with something pretty.

-Here's where you 'stute people come in: Rahne had a really good idea

Sooner or later we're going to get into a fight with the Institute, so it would be good to get a feel for their abilities and tactics... and psych them out while we're at it. So every once in a while we pick one, attack him/her while alone, see how s/he fights, defeat him/her and take off. (These can be NPCs or PCs, if any PCs volunteer.) No permanent damage or killing or kidnapping or anything, since we don't want to set off another serious feud... just show 'em who's boss!

do any of you guys want to volunteer to get knocked around a little/ attacked? I'm thinking it could also end in a draw if you find defeat that unpalatable, we're out for intelligence gathering after all.

Oo, actually -- I've been meaning to set up a scene one of these days where Bobby has one of his limbs shattered into little icy splinters and he gets to panic about what happens if he shifts back to human form... cuz really, how would he know?

I think I might also pencil Laurie into the beatdown schedual, Primer's eventually going to find a way to turn therapy sessions with Bob to "So, that pheromone person at your school" though it'll probably be difficult to do subtly. When he does, after he gets over the shock, he'll want to see this supposed offspring of his in action. To make it a little interesting Primer's enough of a jerk to want to test out the effects of these pheromones which means whoever goes with him on this particular beatdown probably won't know what her mutation is. So double manipulation, hopefully fun

Not too difficult. I can see two very natural ways for it to happen:

1) A general "Tell me about the other students at your school, Bobby..." kind of ongoing conversation that eventually gets around to Laurie.
I mean, Bobby's bound to mention John and Rogue and Xavier within the first thirty seconds of opening his mouth; the rest would flow very naturally.

2) Bobby talking about the whole "what if I could control people's emotions the way Laurie does" thing that was on his mind in the gym.

More generally, I think it's safe to assume that between Bobby actually being pretty motivated to do this therapy thing, and Primer having his magic trust-me pheromones, Primer pretty much knows anything he wants to know that Bobby knows.

If it's ever something really secret, like the security access codes to the Institute sub-basement or something, and the information is later used in some way Bob finds out about, he might smell a rat... but even then, the thing about Bob is that once he decides someone is cool he's actually pretty stubbornly trusting of that person. He's more likely to suspect a secret telepath or a spy in the Institute or something.

(Oh, relatedly: you might want to take a look at Bobby's 100-questions thread if you ever want to RP Primer taking advantage of personal things Bobby talks about during sessions... I might rewrite them someday as Bobby/Sean conversations.)

Bloodthirsty little Rahne will basically attack anything Primer -- or, frankly, anybody else -- points her at, no questions asked. Not killing them will be a little trickier for her -- she's not used to that -- but she'll probably be able to manage it.

Hmm maybe we should RP out a Bobby and Primer session after all, it seems like some key stuff is getting released plus it would be nice to have at least one on record and see what Bobby would say about people if he felt completely free to speak his mind, like that game where you three way call and one person doesn't know it's a three way and you start ossiping and the silent person hears everything ohhhh. *cough* Sorry. Seventh grade flashback.

Okay! First on our victims list is Tobias. Now, any other Brotherhood members interested in this thread? I guess I could just run it with Rahne, myself, and some NPCs but that would be a bit boring... TM? Roger? Sherridan when he isn't away?

...or you know when I get time since today is my good friend's eighteenth birthday and Wednesday is my last day of senior year so I might be sorta busy for a bit.

Tobers - I'd say start a thread somewhere where you're somewhere relatively isolated (since we're unlikely to invade the Institute to beat you up!) and we can take it from there.

I just had an image of something I thought would be totally awesomely cool, and figured I'd mention: Tobias being ALMOST surprised by what would otherwise be a deadly attack, such that he freezes time in the split second between "damaged" and "dead."

For example, Rahne loses it, comes up behind him, and rakes her claws across his throat. He's keyed up and stuff so he instinctively stops time the moment he feels her claws. Or something similar with Taskmaster and a sword, for example, or Sherridan and his claws.

So there he is, with a huge wound and blood-spray frozen in mid-air, knowing he's got maybe a minute of subjective time before his body goes into shock.

(Presumably he flees at this point, ending up in a nearby cab or storefront or something, and gets taken to a hospital?)

Then again, he could, arguably, freeze time in just the right part of the second and then actually avoid getting out of the problem without much of a wound, at least without something bigger than a slight cut.

Also, I was just about to give a suggestion of Tobias finding eight-legged friends in his car. It would further send a message that the Brotherhood is not only dangerous on accounts of being schneaky ambushers, but also on account that they know stuff. (this might be included as part of Sherridan's intelligence gathering mission, mentioned earlier)

And the goal was to shake him up, not kill him, so Sherridan wouldn't lay a finger on him (considering that any one and every one of those fingers has claws that do not guarantee life, and, in fact, guarantee the opposite), and Rhane would get in assloads of trouble for doing something like that, as would anyone else with that attempt, so I guess we can play it any way...just thought I'd give in my insignificant $0.01

I actually like the second one. Right now he's got the arrogant thing going on, but say there are...oh, even one or two small spiders in the car, he really would be scared shitless...pardon my french.
