Kitty notice immediately that Josh froze and was apparently caught in the mans gaze <I told you not to look into his eyes> She fired at him as she stepped forward putting herself between Josh and the man who was now getting up from the floor. Her body between them would break their gazes and hopefully Josh would be back in his own mind.
"What do you want Merrick. Just get out of here." Kitty said watching him closely. She was careful not to look into his eyes, though they drew her to him and to fight the urge was great. She kept her eyes on his feet as he walked toward her reaching out to grab her.
At the moment when his hand touched her arm she phased it through so that he could not get a grip on her. He was a bit surprised catching site of her necklace now. "Oh, so you're both freaks. This is even better." He moved quick locking his arm around her and pulling her head up to his eyes before she could phase out.
His movements were those of someone who knew what they were doing. He knew he was faster than her and now she wondered what she could do as her eyes met his again and her mind went blank. The capture took only a split second and she was useless once more.
Though he had made the comment that they were freaks, it seemed that he was more of a freak than them all as his eyes changed from the brilliant blue that she originally saw to a deep red that seemed to suck her in so tight that it seemed she would never be able to escape. All she felt was herself leaving her body and being drawn into his.

This guy's eyes are wack. What the hell? While frozen, Josh runs various battle plans through his mind, and comes to one conclusion. They've gotta get rid of this guy.
When Kitty passes through Merrick's line of sight, he unfreezes. Yes! Time to kick some ass, Impact! He cocks his head. You know, I kind of like the sound of that.
The guy's eyes turn to red, and he can feel Kitty's mental distress. Time to end this. He catches Merrick in a TK grip and throws him up into the ceiling with a crunch and a howl. Undaunted, he catapaults him downward into the ground with another scream to punctuate it. Noticing a tracked loading door nearby, he pushes it partway upwards with his mind.
Finally, he pinballs the man down the hallway and tosses him with all his strength out the now-open door, slamming it shut behind him.
"Don't hit your ass on the door on your way out!" Josh snarks. He crouches next to Kitty. "You okay? Maybe we should make our way back to the party?" He grins and sticks out a crooked arm.

When Josh began his assault on Merrick, Kitty was released and fell to the ground. With the pull she had felt she was a bit dizzy from the sudden release and shook her head a bit, only catching the end of the fight between Josh and the guy who seemed not quite human to her.
When Josh offered his arm she took it raising up from the floor and flashing a smile to him as she tried to clear her head. Though the pull was not there anymore, it still felt weird to her. "Thanks Josh. I don;t know what it was about him, but there was definitely something." She said straightening her shirt and making sure she looked okay still. She nodded when he suggested returning to the party, putting a smile on her face as if nothing had happened.

The two of them make their way back to the rave itself, getting smashed around by the crowd in the process.
"Well, what do you want to do? We could go get something to drink..." He hooks a thumb over by the bar. "Or, we could always go make out, seeing as you're my girlfriend." He smiles wickedly, but gives Kitty a half-hug so she knows it's a joke. "I promise you can be my girlfriend anytime creepy mutants try to steal your soul with their eyes."
"Have you seen anyone else? Last time I saw Warren he was impersonating the Chippendales." The image of Warren with cuffs and a bowtie, sauntering through the Institute's kitchen, makes Josh grin. "I think I need a drink..." He starts over to the bar, looking back at Kitty.

Kitty smiled at his comments as she followed keeping an hand on him as they walked. She was beginning to feel like herself once again and with Josh so close it felt comfortable. She came looking for adventure and something new. What she had found was beyond her wildest dreams, and now she stuck to Josh as if he was the only thing keeping her together.
"A drink sounds good to me. After that action I do feel like getting the chance to loosen up." She said smiling at him.
The comment about making out she let slide, though she did give it a thought. The more time she spent around the boy the more she liked him. What had come across as to safe for her now seemed more her pace.
Letting her hand slide down his arm to his own hand she smile holding onto it comfortable. The more she thought about him and looked at the way he smile at her after it all she felt that familiar tug she had felt once with Bobby. Though she never continued after the incident that seemed to cause more trouble, she had second guessed herself, this time she may just go along with it.

Kitty's holding my hand. Josh is acutely aware of this. Doesn't Kitty have a thing for Bobby? He remembered Bobby taking her ice skating right before the Alcatraz incident. Bobby got crap for weeks about that one.
Ah, whatever. She's just happy we got rid of that loser Merrick. Josh smiles at her, and swings their hands together as they reach the bar.
The crowd clustered around the bar is slightly easier to get through than the mass of people dancing. When they get to the counter, a boy in black leather points over at the two of them and shouts.
Oh, no, Merrick's buddies? Josh tenses up. Wait, it's Warren's fan club! He grins and starts waving, dropping his hand from Kitty's.
"Hey, dude. Nice moves! We saw your little fight over by the hallway. You came in with Warren, right?" A couple of them move over closer.
"Yeah. Haven't seen him for awhile, though." Josh puts a hand on the counter.
"Anything you want is on us! Haven't seen a show like that before." One brings shots over. "Bottoms up!"
Josh grabs one of the glasses and raises it. "Thanks!"

Kitty smiled at the group that had come over talking to Josh. He had dropped her hand and though it was a bit disappointing she took it all in stride. Standing next to Josh she listened to them as they spoke. When shots were brought she grabbed one as well downing it quickly.
They groups seemed friendly enough and Kitty was relaxed by now. One of the guys began talking to her one on one wanting to lead her off to the side. After what had just happened she politely declined preferring to stay near Josh now.
As she watched as the few guys that were talking seemed to crowd around them a bit she pressed a bit closer to Josh. Not for protection as much as just wanting to be close to him. The incident earlier made her see him in a different light and now she had the feeling that once they were away from everyone else she would get a chance to talk to him. His room wasn't that far from hers anyway.

After having a couple drinks, Josh was well on his way to becoming permanent friends with the X-Fans.
Josh levitates shot glasses across to other members of the club. The, he notices Kitty keeping close to him. Probably a good idea. Some of the people around here are positively sketchy. And where the hell is Riley? The thought vanishes from his mind as another enters it.
"Oh man! Watch this, guys. Warrrren taught me this. He's awesome!" He realizes that his words are slurring a bit, but whatever, right? Josh grabs Kitty's hand, whispering "I'll be right back." as he backs up, hands in the air.
He levitates a foot into the air, and then does a midair backflip. Whoa boy. The drinks are kicking in a little. He grins down at the hooting and shouting crowd.
"Wooooohoooooooo!" Josh telekinetically catapaults himself up into, and through, a glass skylight. Right as he reaches it he slaps at it with his TK, resulting in a rain of shattered glass onto the crowd of dancers. No one notices.
The bar crowd begins to chant "Teek Boy! Teek Boy! Teek Boy!"

Kitty watched as Josh began to show off for the crowd. She smiled watching him as she did a few more shots. The alcohol was loosening her up a bit by now and she was having fun. One of the guys slid over to her close to Joshes place. She smiled at him as she reached for another shot her hand phasing through it.
She laugh a bit as the guys eyes went wide. "Yeah I can do things as well. Slipping through solid things." She said tot he guy who was now getting closer to her. She looked up looking for Josh again. She was more comfortable when he was around. They guy standing by her was nice and all, but he made her a bit nervous.
She smiled as she caught sight of Josh again and hoped he would come back to where she was. The uneasiness still crept around her as she took shot after shot obviously getting drunk by now.

Once the door was closed, the guys began to move closer to Riley. She looked behind and noticed a bed. She looked around the rest of the room and noticed that there was nothing else. Oh my God! Please, this isn't happening to me already! And why am I dizzy and confused and feeling weak and a tiny bit turned on? She knew that what she was feeling had to do with something that had done.
"What the hell did you do to me?" she yelled at them. They looked at each other and evil smiles appeared on their face. "Well, you are drugged. We put... what was it called again?... the police called it the 'date rape drug'... I don't know why they call it that... well anyways, we put that in your drink, before you got it." one of the guys told her.
Great I'm drugged! And I'm flipping locked in a room with two guys that are planing on making me their new sex toy. Great! I wish Warren or any other the others were here to help me. I hate feeling so weak and not being able to do anything! One of the guys finally grabbed her and she struggled to get out of grip, but it didn't work, because she was so weak. "Shh... calm down. We're not going to do anything bad to you." he told her. He then placed a hand on her left cheek, and had his thumb rubbed her cheek gently. Then slowly, he moved his hand down the left side of her neck, onto her shoulder, and then began to move her shirt strap, so it would come off of her shoulder. Riley quickly moved, causing the strap to snap and was know haning down.
Then Riley, quickly struggled again and managed to get out of his grip and stepped back, away from him. The guy seemed to be getting a bit angry, but he still had that evil smile on his face. "Fine, since your liked that, I guess I'm just gonna have to be rough" he told her. He then pushed her onto the bed and before she could get away, he was ontop of her. She struggled, trying to get him off, but then he pinned her down.
"GET OFF OF ME!!!" she yelled. Riley was planing on yelling for help, but she knew no one could hear her over the music. How the hell am I going to get out of this? He then began to kiss her neck and slowly began to move his way down. <Someone please help me!> she sent to Warren, Josh, Kitty and Danny. She had no idea who had gotten the message or if it even worked.
In the mean time, Riley continued on struggling to get this guy off of her. Soon she felt a sudden power in her. She had no idea what, but her telekinesis kicked in and the guy was lift off of her and was thrown into the wall. Riley had no idea how she did that, but she quickly got up. It wasn't to long after she got back up that she was pinned back down by the other guy. "GET THE HELL OFF OF ME!" she yelled at him, while trying to get out, but he seemed to be a lot more stronger then the other guy. The guy that was thrown into the wall was out for a few minutes, but then came too and went over to Riley to help keep her pinned to the bed.

Danny is having a blast, dancing in the middle of the crowd, mingling with everyone and anyone. He remembers his X-shaped pendant, and finally pulls it out of his pocket and puts it along with the dragon pendant, on his neck.
All of the partying is suddenly canceled. <Someone please help me!> he receives the mental message, and, by reflex, sends a portion of his power over the short-term telepathic link, amplifying Riley's powers for a moment. The link is quickly lost, and Danny half runs-half pushes his way through the crowd and building until he finally is at the door behind which Riley is. <Riley, It's me, Danny. I'll try to amplify your telekinesis and increase your control over it, please don't resist!> he sends a message to her as soon as he establishes the telepathic link once more.
He concentrates, and hard, so that he can overcome all the distractions. Finally, he starts sending his willpower to her own mind and body, increasing her telekinesis both in power and control. His eyes start to shine blue, and somewhere behind the door, Riley has an outline of blue light around her body. <OK, Riley, I can't hold this up for long, try to open the door, NOW!> his telepathic messages become louder as he comes closer to the end of the link. Now is as good a time as any, Danny. Just DO IT! he shouts at himself within his thoughts, and then suddenly starts doing something else.
<Don't...resist...please...> he sends out the few words before the ability to send and receive messages collapses. Still, thankfully, the mind-to-power link is there. OK, one...two...three...NOW! he thinks, and concentrates on Riley's telekinesis. Come on...come on...Work Damn It!
And yes, it does work. His eyes now shine green, and he has an outline of green light around him, and Riley probably doesn't have the aura any more. She still has her powers, and they are slightly more under control, but Danny has the power of telekinesis now as well.
He concentrates, and manages to tame the wild new beast, as the power manifests itself in his mind, and he pulls out a hand. With a single violent thrust, the door is opened wide, and Danny comes in, his both hands now doing many intricate moves in the air. Finally, he claps his hands together, and then pulls them apart rapidly. The two guys are thrown into separate corners of the room. Each of them is unconscious, made so by the violent hit into the walls.
"Riley, are you OK?" he asks as the light fades away from his eyes, and he takes a few steps towards her. A few steps, not more, because he now falters and collapses onto the floor, into a kneeling position. He is still conscious, but he sits down, and stays there. He doesn't have the energy to stand up just yet. Was that a violent intrusion I just made? My very first violent intrusion? And on a friend, no less. he shudders from the thoughts.

> <Someone please help me!>
Warren's eyes re-open as he picks up the fringe of Riley's mental call, wondering if he somehow imagined it. He hopes he imagined it, because he can't very well let a cry for help like that go unanswered, but he really doesn't want to interrupt what he's doing, or more to the point what's being done to him. Except there's really no question that that was Riley's distress signal. Not that Warren's an expert on such things, but it's a hard thing to mistake.
Maybe it can wait? he asks himself in a plaintive mental voice, Shouldn't be more than a couple more minutes... Then he glares at himself and replies sternly You're being ridiculous. And you're carrying on mental conversations with yourself. Cut it out.
He sighs, opens his mouth to say something but the breath he was planning to say it with shatters in his throat. He tries again. "Sorry... you have no idea how sorry... but I'm going to need a (gasp) raincheck here. Friend's in trouble." He grabs the remaining tablets off the counter and rearranges himself with some difficulty as he heads through the door. "At least, if she wasn't before, she is now!" he growls under his breath.
The lights outside blind him as he steps out into the hall, and he mutters something not entirely coherent about light-sensitivity and side-effects as he tilts his head back and forth, counting on hearing and windsense to give him some idea of what's going on. It occurs to him that Riley's message, while concise, wasn't exactly informative. Help her with what? More to the point, where?
From the other side of the warehouse, a voice calling his name catches his attention and he "sees" a figure levitate off the ground, flip end-over-end, then fly straight up. Riley? No, no wings. Josh? A moment later he hears the sound of crashing glass and a small portion the roof suddenly opens up into the sky, and he launches himself in that direction instinctively, assuming they're both in trouble... is this some kind of trap?
It takes him longer to reach the bar than it probably ought to, since the feel of the air blowing past his feathers is suddenly extremely distracting. Not too long, but long enough for Josh's cheer and the bar crowd's chant to reach him. That doesn't sound like trouble... what's going on?
He flies through the gap in the roof, his vision clearing significantly once he's out of the bright lights. "Josh, what's going on?"

Josh spins through the air, hands flung wide, into a 10 point landing. Well, maybe a 9.8.
You know, Josh-boy, maybe, just maybe it wasn't such a good idea to fly around like a fool when there are people like that weirdo here. The thought briefly crosses his mind, but he pushes it away. Warren's not worried about it - the reckless voice in the back of his head wins.
He's about to jump back into the skylight when a rustle of white feathers shoots up through it instead.
'Warren! Your fans are awesome! I showed them what you taught me the other week! And they loved it!" With this Josh grabs Warren around the middle, hugging him tightly. "And they bought me and Kitty shots. Hee!" I... probably shouldn't have any more for a bit.
>"Josh, what's going on?"
"What's going on? Not much." Josh thinks for a second. "They started calling me 'Teek Boy'!" He starts giggling and lets go of Warren. "Want to go back down?" He peers into the hole.
"We could dance!" He waggles his eyebrows suggestively, with a mischievious grin.

Ever since he discovered the rave scene, Warren has experimented with a wide range of recreational intoxicants. He's learned to avoid depressants like alcohol, and to stay far away from hallucinogens and most euphorics if he intends to do any flying, and from the really high-powered amphetamines if he intends to make any friends. With his metabolism he doesn't have to worry much about side-effects, after all, and they help take the edge off.
Until this moment, he'd thought MDMA was the perfect solution... mild euphoric, mild stimulant, not enough to impair his judgement, and the tactile sensitivity was totally cool. Except it turns the feel of Josh's bare arms sliding around his bare waist into something he'd never imagined. Not only does his entire body shiver, his wings twitch like a dozen snakes in a sack and for just a moment he loses his grip on the air.
Without thinking, he wraps his legs around Josh's torso for support, grabs onto his shoulders, slides him down a couple of feet before catching himself... which in and of itself is all kinds of distracting, especially given the state he was in to start with.
He's pretty sure he moans, and hopes Josh is too drunk to notice. Well, mostly hopes. Well, actually...
Focus, Warren. Riley. In trouble. Remember?
It becomes a little easier to focus when Josh lets go, and Warren drops lightly to the rooftop... then the boy's suggestive grin makes it harder again. Warren takes a deep breath and tries to keep his mind on what's actually going on, instead of what might go on later.
"Sounds good, Josh... actually, sounds great. Best idea I've heard in days. Weeks. Quite possibly my entire life. In fact, that might very well be the best idea ever. But hold that thought for just a second? I think Riley might be in trouble... she was broadcasting some kind of telepathic distress thingie. Have you seen her around in the last few minutes?"

Stilling being pinned down, she soon heard someone sending her a message through telepathy. It was Danny! She was so glad that her telepathy worked, since she always had trouble with it. She listened to what Danny had said, and did what he told her. She relaxed and allowed Danny to enter her mind to help with her powers. When he told her to open the door she tried, but it was kind of hard to think about that, with two guys ontop of you, wanting to have sex.
Not to long after, trying she soon felt Danny doing something. Then the next thing she knew was that the door was smashed open, she knew Danny was using her powers to do that, since she could feeling it being used. He then sent the two guys flying through the room, hitting the walls hard and were knocked out.
Riley slowly sat up, but the drugs were still kicking in and not really helping much. She placed a hand on her forehead, still feeling really dizzy. "Yeah I think I'm going to be fine." she told him. She then noticed him going down. "hey are you alright?" she asked him, trying to move as fast as she could towards him, placing a hand on his back. She heard his thought, and just smiled to herself. "Thank you for saving me here." she told him with a smile.
After about a minute, Riley soon noticed that one side of her shirt was slowly falling down and quickly fixed it, she didn't want to end up flashing the kid, so she pulled it up as high as it would go and hoped it would stay. She noticed slightly that her powers seemed to be a bit different right at the moment, like she could control them better. Great! I have better control over my powers when I'm drugged and can't think straight. This is a very interesting night. First the concert, then the rave, dancing, drinking, almost becoming a sex toy, and then being saved. I wonder what is going to happen next now?
Riley slowly soon, stood up. "Do you want to get out of this room and go back to the rave, and see how the others are doing?" she asked him. She really hoped that the others were alright and nothing like this was happening to them.
