Josh goggles slightly as Warren wraps himself temporarily around his body.
I think… that was nice. Then Warren moans. I think I win at life. Josh, slightly unsteady on his feet, muses that there probably aren’t too many noises better than that in the world, but the rest have to be vocally related to it.
>…In fact, that might very well be the best idea ever….
He cocks his head innocently as that. Wow. I think we all need to drink at the Institute a little more. Nightly, if possible.
“I’m holding you to that…. anyway, telepathic distress thingie? Last time I saw her she was dancing. I think I might have heard something a second ago, but that was when I was trying to shatter the glass before I went through it. You know. Houdini and all that. Wolverine’s the only one who can get through glass unscathed.” Did I just use the word unscathed?
He lifts a hand to his head and tries to concentrate. It’s more difficult than usual, the least of which is because he’s not especially familiar with Riley’s mental profile. “Um. I think she’s in the back somewhere. Maybe.” Josh looks over at Warren. “Should we go check it out?”
Josh heads over to the skylight and prepares to jump down. He realizes that he’s unconsciously wiggling his ass to the music as he saunters over. Oop. Better stop that. Save Riley now. Hot dance party later.

> that was when I was trying to shatter the glass before I went through it
"Oh... that was intentional, then, good. I thought maybe there was some kind of fight involved."
Warren follows Josh back through the skylight and around to the back of the party, trying to ignore the touch of wind against his feathers and fabric against his legs and focus on the task at hand. He's impressed by the other boy's telepathic tracking ability, though (among other thinigs). "So is that just a two-telepath thing? Or can you find anybody that way? You must rule at hide-and-seek."
After a few minutes he spots Riley coming out of one of the back rooms with Danny, both seeming a little woozy, and drops down in front of them. "Are you two all right? I heard some kind of telepathic distress signal... is there trouble?" They seemed mostly all right, though, and he breathed a little more easily.
Without thinking about it, he reaches out with his wings to check them over, savoring the textures of fabric and skin and hair for a minute before pulling them back. "Um... neither of you seem injured. What happened?." He begins to wonder whether he'd somehow misinterpreted the situation, and flushes a little.

Josh hears Warren ask him a question as they fly to check on Riley. It’s rather difficult to hear with the X-Fans shouting at their synchronized flight. A nice change from bottles and bricks, though.
“Oh! Well… it’s easier with telepaths, depending on how strong they are. Sonar or something….” He taps the side of his head. “But the more familiar I am with someone the easier it is as well. Usually the best I can come up with is a direction to search in, but I’m getting better at it.” He lands, stumbling a little.
Riley and Danny both seem to be ok. Josh is slightly disappointed that he doesn’t get to show off again, then realizes the alternate activity was going to be… what, exactly? ‘Dancing’, right? Josh chuckles a little, then looks over at Warren as he speaks.
>"Um... neither of you seem injured. What happened?"
This better be good. Josh pulls his phone out of his pocket. Wow! It doesn’t seem that late already. He replaces it and folds his hands over his chest.

Once she heard someone coming her way, Riley quickly looked up to see who it was. Coming down that hallway was Warren and Josh, she smiled at them glad to see them and that her telepathy worked. Her shirt was slowly falling back down again, but Riley soon took noticed of it and was able to pull it back up again, knowing that the rest of the night, she would be doing that.
"Yeah, I think we are alright." she said looking down at Danny. She wasn't really sure if he was going to be ok, and also she still felt dizzy because of the drug. She then heard what Warren had said, asking what had happened. She looked at her feet for a moment, knowing that she shouldn't have let her gaurd down at the time, but she did and there was nothing to change that.
"Well... it's kind of a long story, but to make it short. I had a drink with a guy, got drugged, then pulled in here with his buddy, almost became a sex toy, then Danny helped me." she said quickly, hoping that some things they didn't really hear well, mainly the sex toy part, and hoped that they wouldn't get worked up over it.
Looking back up at them, she noticed that everyone was standing here, apart from Kitty. She was hoping that she is alright and nothing like that was happening to her. "Sorry I put a damper on things, and pulled you guys away from your fun." she told them. Riley felt bad from causing so much trouble already.
"So where is Kitty?" she asked them, wondering if any of them was with her, or knew where she was.

Kitty still leaned against the bar surrounded by people and one guy in particular that seemed to be hanging all over her. His speech was slurred and she could smell the alcohol on his breath every time he talk. It was actually nauseating. She kept looking around for Josh or Warren, but had lost sight of them awhile ago. At the moment the guys who were standing around her where the closest thing she had to someone to talk to.
Craning her neck a bit and wishing she was either taller or able to levitate she looked around for anyone who had arrived with her. Though she would rather it be Josh she found, almost anyone familiar would do at the moment.
The music was loud and she was throughly drunk by this time. She didn't want to chance walking away from the bar for fear of falling over, but also had the urge to get out into the open air where she could clear her head a bit. The pounding was messing with her concentration and she was worried that she would unintentionally phase.

Wow, Warren thinks at first, grinning widely, These two move faster than I'd expected! But then why did she --
Then it suddenly dawns on him that she means nonconsensually, and he gets annoyed. He suspects that, if he weren't under the influence of a heavy dose of a mild euphoric, he'd be turning purple with fury, but as it is annoyed will have to do. Because sure, these things happen at raves. But not to his friends, not here.
He steps into the room behind Daniel and Riley, sees the two guys she mentioned sprawled unconscious, nods. That will make this simpler. He scoops them up and walks back out into the hall with each one wrapped in one of his wings (pinioned, he thinks, and giggles). They itch against his wings like crazy, but he grits his teeth and ignores it for the moment. > "So where is Kitty?"
Warren shrugs, then stops short. Might this be some kind of organized thing targetting his friends? Like blackmail or something? "Crap... I never intended anything like this... just thought it would be fun to bring some friends along to a party!"
He's a little startled that he said that out loud, but adds to Josh: "Can you pull that tracking trick again and find her? Maybe we'd better stick together until we know what's going on." He sighs, a bit despondent. "Sorry about all this, guys... I hadn't expected things to get this out of hand."

Whoa. I guess Merrick has friends with similar interests. Good thing Danny was here.
>"Sorry about all this, guys... I hadn't expected things to get this out of hand."
Josh rolls his eyes. 'Warren, we all knew what we were getting into here. It's not like you decided to take us to the Westchester Park. And besides... everyone's fine, right?" He looks from Warren to Riley, and then to Danny. Josh realizes that he's slightly upset that the fun factor of the evening has been dampered - as far as he's concerned, the Riddick adventure was merely an exercise in creative power management. He shakes his head. Jeez, Josh. Think for a second. Riley almost got... oh -
"Yeah, I should be able to find her." Josh lifts a hand to his head and closes his eyes, beginning to concentrate. Then, a thought dawns on him.
"Maybe I don't need to get that technical." He levitates several feet up, as if on a pillar of air, and tries to block an especially headache-inducing spotlight. Gotcha. "She's right where I left her, at the bar. We should probably get over there, though... that guy looks skeezy." Josh drops lightly to the ground, wobbling a little, and begins to maneuver towards the bar.
(OOC - edit - nice eyes, Warr. oops.)

(( OOC: Josh, "Merrick" is the NPC with the mutant eyes, "Riddick" is the PC with the mutant eyes. ))
> She's right where I left her, at the bar. We should > probably get over there, though... that guy looks skeezy.
Great... apparently it's pick on my friends day. Either that, or I overestimated how well some of these kids can take care of themselves.
Either way, Warren really isn't looking forward to having to explain the situation to Ororo and Logan if anybody gets hurt, and is starting to remember why he used to keep his private and Institute lives separate.
He keeps the thought to himself, though, and nods in agreement with Josh. For just a moment he's about to fly barward, then remembers the two would-be rapists trapped in his wings "Right behind you, J"
He looks over his shoulder at Daniel and Riley. "Daniel, I don't know how much you know about roofies, but she's likely to be a bit confused and disoriented for a few hours, and will probably forget a lot of what happens in that time afterwards. Can you stick close to her, make sure nobody else takes advantage of her?"
Truthfully he's not sure what effect roofies have on a mutant physiology like Riley's, especially given her healing talent. He's never tried them himself (Well, as far as I remember... chuckle), so it's hard to be sure. But clearly she's not immune to them, so better to be safe than sorry.

Josh threads his way between dancing partygoers, making his way back towards Kitty. He looks back and shoots a mental poke towards Warren to make sure the other boy is behind him.
He makes to take off to circumvent the mass of people, but then thinks better of it. I think I better walk of this headache first. The bright lights and pounding music, coupled with alcohol, were getting to him. He was also fighting off a pretty much constant stream of erotic thoughts being issued from the crowd. His mental blocks against others' thoughts were sound in most cases, but this was much like holding floodwaters back. Nice analogy, Josh. He snorts. And I think that my subconscious is starting to agree with the floodwaters...
<How about some pinball if this guy turns out to be one of Merrick's close personal friends?> Josh aims backwards at Warren, throwing a glance at the skylight.
Josh arrives next to the bar. "Hey, how are things going? Sorry I took longer than I was expecting. I found Warren, though!" He directs this last at the X-Fans, who give a cheer. Already, things seem to be looking up, and Josh grins sloppily. Yeah! Let's get the party back on track!

Kitty turned toward the sound of Josh's voice. She smiled as her eyes fell on him. Though she was not having much trouble with the guy who seemed to be leaning ever closer, she was glad to see a face of someone she knew. And with Warren also heading her way it was even better.
She was sure the two would end up going off and doing their own thing, but at least getting a few minutes with her friends was always a good thing. "Hey guys. Having fun?" She asked her speech a bit slurred from all the alcohol that the guy who was still inching his way closer had bought her. She was enjoying herself, but the guy was a bit creepy.
She turned back to Josh and Warren keeping her eyes on them as she spoke to the guy at her side. "Sorry but my Friends have returned. Maybe I'll see you around." She stepped away from the bar lacing her arm through Josh's and giving him a wink. This was more for the guy who was watching them than anything.
She heard him mutter something about seeing her around and slunk off a bit. She turned back to the guys trying to gain the rest of her composure. She was drunk, but still functional. "Glad you guys showed up when you did. That guy had said something about a back room. I would rather have not ended up there."

> "That guy had said something about a back room. I would rather have not ended up there."
Warren almost rolls his eyes, but doesn't. He just nods sympathetically.
I should talk to Ororo about expanding their training regimen... what's the point of knowing how to handle yourself in a fight if you don't know enough not to let creepy-looking strangers buy you drinks at a rave? Of course, it occurs to Warren he probably isn't the best role model in that regard... sure, he knows Whitey can be trusted, but they have no way of knowing how much research he did. But anyway, he's not supposed to be their role model here.
He looks back over his shoulder to make sure Riley and Daniel are OK, which they seem to be, and finally relaxes. Nobody dead, nobody injured, nobody about to be raped. So, fine, his standards for "OK" have taken a dive, but for the love of God it's a party!
Which finally brings his attention to the cheering X-Fans and the sloppy grin on Josh's face, which makes him laugh. His earlier partner has rejoined the group, and Warren shrugs apologetically, indicating the two goons in his wings. "Sorry", he mouths over the roar of the crowd, then turns back to Josh and grins even more broadly.
<Pinball, huh? Feeling up to a couple of rounds of tennis first? Let's give these guys a show, shall we?> "Give us some room, folks!" he shouts, then backs up to the edge of the not-very-large clearing in the crowd and unrolls his right wing with a snap, sending one of the two now-semi-conscious offenders spinning in Josh's direction. "Think fast, Teek Boy!"

Josh plays along, letting Kitty slip her arm through his. <We're glad you're okay. Sorry about the wait. We were dealing with some... friends.> He lets his mind dribble over to Warren as well, giving them both a smile. The man walks off, dejected, giving Josh the chance to take a step over to the bar, being careful to extricate his arm carefully.
"Uh. I think I need some water... you guys have water, right?" Josh gives the bartender a quizzical look.
"One water." He slings a bottle up over the counter, and Josh takes a grateful slug. Jeez, I think I overdid it a little. Fortunately, his headache seems to be subsiding somewhat.
>"Think fast, Teek Boy!"
Josh spins around at Warren's comment, clapping the bottle down on the bar surface. He throws out both hands, halting the goon in midair. The crowd claps enthusiastically. "Heh. That's nothing!" His natural showboat begins to surface with a vengeance, prompting him to lift the man farther up and start spinning him end for end, like a pinwheel.
"Let's take care of the trash." He makes a twisting gesture, stopping the spin and hurtling the man upwards through the broken skylight and into the night air. "See ya!" The crowd is hooting, and Josh hovers a foot in the air or so, bowing, but grimacing slightly. Any type of mental strain just served to increase the headache. Yeah, but I'm never going to have this crowd again!
"What do you wanna do with the other one?" He smirks, taking a drink of his water and looking over at Warren.

Warren watches Josh and Kitty for a minute, wondering idly whether there's anything going on there. She looks like she can use somebody with Josh's high spirits to perk her up... at least, she seems pretty down whenever he sees her. Still, he'd been looking forward to taking the boy up on his dancing offer.
Well, there's time.
> "What do you wanna do with the other one?"
The smirk seems almost a challenge, and Warren smirks back. "What, you think you're the only juggler in the Institute?" He unrolls the remaining wing, snapping the guy into the air and scooping him out of it with the first wing, like a bat catching a bug out of the air, turns a clumsy pirouette on one foot while pushing the guy along, then stops suddenly. The guy goes flying, and Warren catches him again, and with his back to Josh shouts "Can I get an assist on the basket?" and flips him toward the telekinetic.
He stretches his wings out while he has a chance, aware of the dose of X he took earlier working its way out of his system. Oh well. There's more where that came from.

>"What, you think you're the only juggler in the Institute?"
Josh shoots a look of challenge, and watches Warren flip the other loser through a complex series of movements.
>"Can I get an assist on the basket?"
He catches the man in a telekinetic grip as Warren hurls the man, directing him smoothly towards the skylight. "Catch ya later!" Josh waves to the man as he sails out the window.
"They shoot... they score!" He high-fives Warren with a huge grin and looks around at the small group. "So, what are we gonna do now that our friends have been shown the door?" he says, rubbing his temple. No more TK for a bit.
"Maybe some more dancing, you guys?" Josh looks at Warren out of the corner of his eyes while surveying the rest of the group. I was totally serious about dancing with you. He's about to project that, but thinks better of it. His fine-tuning has become progressively sloppier as the night wears on, and he doesn't want to embarass the other boy in front of the rest. Josh does, however, start stepping backwards in the direction of the the crowd.

"Door? I didn't see any door involved." Warren grins, flexing his wings a bit. "And yeah, this is a dance party, after all..."
He moves out onto the dance floor as the temporary bubble in the crowd created by the X-Fans disintegrates, closes his eyes, and lets the rhythmic trance music pulse through his ears, suffuse his windsense, tremble along the taut membranes of his wings. He doesn't exactly fly, but his body and wings undulate in a pattern that keeps his feet off the ground for long periods of time as his face splits into a wide grin.
