Linkin Park post-concert rave (( OOC - A few things: - Josh, Riley, Kitty, and Daniel are coming in with Warren, so are definitely here.
- Also open to anyone else who wants to join in, but you need to have scored your own way of getting in.
- The setting is a stereotypical early-90s-style rave, technically illegal (though the local cops have been paid to look the other way). If you're not familiar with the stereotype, check out wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rave) for a reasonable intro.
- I'm fastforwarding past the 2-hr ride to Hartford and the concert itself, feel free to make reference to anything that "happened" there. (If you actually want to RP some part of that, go ahead and start another thread.)
- I have no plans for what happens. Consider this a communal-improv plot: everyone feel encouraged to g'mod NPCs as part of your posts, and respond to whatever has been posted previously. There's a room full of NPCs... celebrities, drug dealers, crazed fans, crazed nonfans, would-be assassins, undercover cops... make up stuff to your heart's content.
)) From the outside, it doesn't seem like much... a seemingly deserted warehouse in the middle of a neighborhood full of deserted warehouses. Very sensitive hearing might pick out electronic music coming from inside, and an attentive observer might notice the occassional flash of light burst through an incompletely blacked-out window, but the only obvious sign that something is going on is the collection of expensive cars and motorcycles in the parking lot. Warren waves his friends in past the bouncers, slipping them a couple of bills to encourage them not to make a fuss. The bribe probably isn't necessary, since he's still enough of a celebrity that nobody questions his right to be there, and it's the sort of party where knowing where it is is enough of an invitation. Then again, it never hurts to invest in good will. The music gets louder when the outer doors are opened and closed behind them. When the inner doors are opened, it's like a solid wall of sound blasting over them. The warehouse is dimly lit, with brightly colored searchlights and strobes punctuating the darkness, keeping time with the loud, rhythmic, semi-tonal electronica blasting from speakers all over the warehouse. The dance floor is packed with bodies only partially visible under the intermittent lights, wearing every possible combination of everything and nothing, thrashing to the beat like some huge broken-backed sea-serpent. Warren grins broadly. " All right, ladies and Josh, we're here! You need setting up with anything, you let me know... I've got some connections here. And remember, what happens here stays here!" With that he dives over their heads and soars over the crowd, just barely scraping the ceiling. Some cheering can be heard in response from various parts of the room, most vocally from a group of black leather-garbed teenagers with big red Xes spray-painted on the backs of their jackets. A red spotlight swings around and pins Warren against the ceiling, and he grins and yanks his shirt off, spinning it like a cheap male stripper for a second before throwing it in the X-fans' direction. " All right people!," he yells, just barely loud enough to be heard over the music. " Let's get this party started!"

(OOC - just as a reference, I'm thinking the rave occurs sometime in the next two weeks or so after "Flying Lessons"... not that it matters that much, but whatever)
Josh steps into the warehouse with the other four, eyes widening at the huge mass of people all grouped together under spinning strobe lights. He sees a group of people nearby who are obviously shooting up. And here was me thinking that Nancy's was sketchy. Go figure.
He drags his eyes away from Warren's midair striptease, and focuses on where his shirt landed. A group of kids in black leather, with red Xes sprayed on... Warren, you didn't tell me you had a fan club! Josh smiles wickedly. Something to rib the other boy about later.
Josh brushes a hand down his shirt, smoothing out wrinkles. He's wearing a tight blue sleeveless t-shirt, and a pair of jeans. A leather choker with a silver circular "X" logo hangs around his neck. He'd barely avoided getting doused with a beer earlier at the concert. But that concert was AMAZING! Think about your appearance later, Josh. Have fun NOW!
He looks over at Kitty, Riley, and Danny. "Well, what do you guys want to do?" He shoots them a sly smile.

Following Warren into the building, Riley was amazed at the site of everything. So many people were in there having a good time, and she was feeling like she stood out quite a bit at first, but she knew it wouldn't last to long. She looked around at everything, not sure where to head to first. She looked around and noticed people were either hardly wearing anything or almost nothing at all. Riley was wearing a black tank top, that showed some celevage and some of her stomach, with a bit of sparkles on it, and she decided to wear her ripped jean skirt, with some black boots.
Not to long after they came in, Riley heard Warren say a few things, but she couldn't really get all of it, because of the music being so loud. Then he took off over the crowd, with several people cheering up at him, then he was pined to the ceiling, but not for to long, since he ripped off his shirt and through it through the air. Riley laughed, when she saw what he did, and then thoughts from the lake came into her mind. She quickly pushed it away in case she was standing by a telepath.
Then Riley hears Josh asking them what they want to do and noticed his smile. "I say we party. Who wants to come dancing with me?" she asked with a smile. Riley loved to dance and have a good time. She waited to see if anyone else wanted to dance, before she made her way through the crowd to dance.

Well, the very beginning was more than fun, now time to really get going. Warren didn't hesitate for a minute, and Danny laughed at the shirt gesture. He looks around, taking in everything, all the people, all the details. He enjoys the music, and it pulls him to dance.
He is wearing a very tight, black tank-top, and black ripped jeans, along with black tennis shoes. The usual dragon-shaped pendant is there around his neck, and his white hair is now in spikes, but nothing too noticeable.
He listens to what the other two have to say, and his face shows a wide smile as Riley, whom he only met during the concert, asks if anyone wants to dance. "I'm in!" he bellows over the music happily, and goes a few steps forward, starting to mingle into the crowd. Dancing really would be an art, considering how many people are there, and Danny succeeds in it. He's nothing special as a dancer, but gets around well, falling into the "medium/normal" crowd. "You two coming?" he shouts happily, waiting for them near the edge of the intertwined chaos of people.

One advantage of the bird's-eye view, beyond becoming the immediate center of attention (which is still such a rush!) is that Warren can see the whole crowd at once.
He sees his friends moving into the crowd, Riley and Daniel more quickly, Josh taking a moment to fix his clothes (which makes Warren grin fondly). He hears the X-fans before he sees them... they show up at a lot of these parties and he's met most of them at one time or another, and by this point they probably have a collection of his shirts. Finally he spots the man he's looking for, not exactly hiding, but leaning casually against the wall in an exceptionally shadowy part of the room.
He flutters to a landing a fair distance a way and makes his way through the crowd to him, stopping from time to time to dance with someone he vaguely recognizes or who just seems enthusiastic about dancing with him.
That's one of the things he loves about these parties... everyone is accepting of, well, everything. Of course, that's mostly the drugs talking, but still it's nice. Mutant, human, black, white, purple, winged, straight, gay, nobody cares, it's all about the music and the vibe.
Finally, after indulging a wide-pupiled fan's request to lick a tequilla shot off Warren's chest, he manages to get to the edge of the the dance floor and over to his target, a six-foot-three black man with a silver earring he's only ever heard referred to as "Whitey".
Whitey grins when he spies Warren. "If it isn't Lucifer himself... word was you'd be in town for this one. Got your package all giftwrapped and everything, if you're still lookin' for the usual?" Warren nods, and casually hands him a handful of bills.
"Pleasure doin' business with you, Gabe," he pockets most of the bills, tosses Warren a key and points to one of the doors off a shadowed hallway, then hands Warren one of the bills back. "Hope you don't mind, Mike," he adds, "...but one of your fans wanted to help you test the goods, if you know what I mean, and was willin' to pay for the privelege. Anybody else I'd just pocket the difference and move on, but ol' Whitey never stiffs a good customer, know what I'm sayin'? Enjoy it, man!"
Warren nods, startled but not surprised, and waves the bill away. "Consider it a down payment for the next batch, Whitey," he calls over his shoulder as he heads for the door.

Kitty entered the warehouse with the rest listening as the sounds got louder. Her dark clothing accented a pale face and the x necklace he wore almost glowed in the black lights that were positioned all around the expanse. Taking a glimpse at a few guys standing in the corner she nodded showing no change in demeanor. Though she had not been to many of these kind of parties, she was confident she could keep her cool.
Hearing the others walk off and seeing their back, Kitty turned to find her own fun. Though she got along with everyone she had come with, she wanted a chance to strike out on her own for once. Pushed her way through the crowd a bit she locked eyes with a guy who was leaning against a poll. She had not seen him before and this in itself intrigued her. His dark spiked hair and black clothing made him almost inconspicuous, but for some reason Kitty was drawn to him.
Stepping close the guy turned to face her showing bright blue eyes that seemed to glow unto themselves. She smiled still staying silent at the moment, but standing close enough that he would recognize she was still there. The music and crowd of people pushed around her and she fought to stay in her spot or get swept away by the sudden movements of many.
Glancing to his right again she noticed that they guy hadn't taken his eyes off of her. A smile crept to her face again as she closed the gap between them. The music was extremely loud and she would have to yell to begin with. "See something you like?" She yelled watching his eyes still.
"Yeah." He answered looking her up and down. "I'm surprised to see someone like you here. As you can tell most are either on drugs or the dance floor. What are you doing just hanging on the sidelines?"
"I could ask you the same thing." Kitty shot back watching him closely. There was something about his eyes. They weren't normal and for a moment she wondered if he was a mutant. "I'm Kitty." She said finally introducing herself.
"Merrick." He said looking at her then away the the crowd who was now gathering around someone near the center of the dance floor. Kitty let her gaze follow him and wondered if her friends were in that crowd. With the introduction of Merrick and his eyes Kitty was beginning to feel uneasy.
She looked away from the crowd back toward where they had come in. It was looking like a better place to be at the moment. Kitty stepped away from Merrick beginning to head back when she felt a hand grab her arm. Turning she looked directly into his eyes again.
Those deep almost hypnotic eyes that seem to shine with their own light. She could tell he was smiling at her. "Where you going Kitty?" He asked pulling her back to where he stood.
In the back of her mind Kitty knew something was going on, but while looking into his eyes she acted as if she had no control over herself. If she was thinking straight she would just phase out of his grasp and walk away from him.

Josh puts a hand to his temple, confused. An image of Warren shoots through his head in the blink of an eye - the snapshot something unfamiliar. Christ, Josh. Let it go for awhile. He looks over at the rest to see them rapidly disappearing.
Riley and Danny are absorbed by the crowd as he looks over. Warren's probably catching up with some friends - I'll bump into him later, I'm sure. Josh watches Kitty exchange words with a guy. He grins inwardly. Go for it!
Then she turns to leave and he grabs her wrist. Josh's eyes narrow - not good. He starts walking towards them and the crowd surges around them, making them vanish.
"Crap!" Josh starts quickly for the last place he saw them. Good thing I'm familiar with Kitty's mental profile. He can sense her just ahead.
Unfortunately, it takes a bit of time to negotiate the crowd. He employs a little gentle telekinesis to push past people who won't even remember being here in the morning.
Finally. He comes upon Kitty and the unfamiliar man, who still has his arm locked around her wrist.
He puts on his best "tough-guy" face and crosses his arms over his chest, saying, "Is there a problem?" He adds to Kitty, <Are you alright?>

The music was blairing and many bodies were being pressed together, moving to the music. Riley was one of the people on the dance floor, being pressed against several people, while dancing to the music. She was having a really good time. Once she had gotten into the crowd of people, she lost sight of the others and didn't really know how they were doing, but she just thought that they were doing fine and having a good time.
After while of dancing, Riley began to get thirsty, so she moved her way off the dance floor and headed for the bar that they had there. She ordered a drink and once she got it and took a sip, Riley could tell that there was a lot of alcohol in it, but she still drank it.
Not to long after she had finished her drink, a man soon came up to her. He began to talk to her and she talked back to him. He then ordered some drinks, and to be nice she took the drink that he offered her. It took some time for her to finish it, but she managed to, and could feel a bit different, but she just ignored it. The man asked if she wanted to dance. "Sure, I love to dance." she said with a smile.
Riley walked onto the dance floor with the guy and they soon began to dance together. After a few minutes, Riley soon realized that there was a group of guys around her and was dancing to the music with her. Riley didn't really mind, since she was use to going to clubs and things like this sometimes happened, so she danced with them. They soon began to move closer to her, making it very hard to move to the music.
With the loud music, the bright lights going everywhere, the guys getting to close for comfort, and the drinks she had, it was really getting to her, and she began to feel a bit dizzy. Soon she felt a bunch of hands grabbing her, and leading her through the crowd, off the dance floor.
"Hey! What are you doing? Let me go!" she told them. Even though Riley wasn't herself, she could tell these guys were really drunk and began to worry a bit. They didn't listen to her, and she began to struggle, but it was no use with these guys. They headed down a hallway, where there was a bunch of doors.
Soon they stopped at one door, and one of the guys pulled out a key and opened it. They then pulled Riley into the room, with all the other guys going in as well. "Now we are going to have some real fun" said one of the guys and closed the door, so no one could come in.

Jubilee wandered through the crowd, this was her kind of party! She looked around as she twiddled her X-necklace, she wore it not only for fashion, but as a symbol of pride to be a mutant, and also, to remember Professor Xavier, the man who had inspired so many people. She giggled, the Professor would hardly approve of her being at a rave, she had seen Warren fly up before, she wondered who else was here.
Sneaking past the guards were easy, all she had to do was create some bright flashing lights away in the trees, and the idiots abandoned their post and went off to go inspect the sparkles. She just walked right in, no need for sneaking here. Jubilee had abandoned her brightly coloured attire, she wore dark blue jean, a black belly top with white stripes along the side. She wore a black coat that resembled her yellow one, she had abandoned her yellow gloves for black, leather, fingerless gloves. Her nails were painted kinda weird, one nail black, one nail white, alternating on both hands. She had black ankle boots on and her hair was let down, she had added pink, blue, green and red stripes in her hair, she looked like she belonged there.
She walked round a bit, she stepped over a fat guy in a bondage suit who was passed out with a bottle of beer in his hand, man, some of these guys were lightweights. She looked round and saw some people passing round a joint, gettting warmed up for the real stuff. She was heading towards what looked like a beer stand, well, more like a beer dark corner then a stand, when she saw Riley being taken away by two drunk assholes. Her eyes narrowed and she ran in Riley's direction, the door slammed in her face, she didn't want to blow it open, she wasn't sure how close Riley was to the door, she could end up getting hurt.
Jubilee started banging on the door, she knew what happened to girls at these parties, she wasn't going to let it happen to anyone she knew. Jubilee placed her hand on the lock and concentrated, she needed to make a small enough explosion to just damage the lock, which wasnt easy, especialyy in a rave, i mean, how was she supposed to concentrate?

Kitty, though lulled a bit by the guys gaze stood next to him his hand still holding her wrist. As someone approached the guy broke eye contact and she was able to come to her senses enough to phase through his hand and turn to Josh. A look of panic came through her eyes immediately telling him that the guy was a mutant. She thought hard not being able to project her thoughts, but knowing that Josh could pick them up <His eyes are hypnotic.>
She slipped her arm around Joshes waist putting space between Merrick and herself. It was easier to make it look like she was with him than to explain anything to the guy who she now considered a threat. She listened as the guy tried to stand up to Josh.
"We were just having a little fun. They girl was perfectly safe." Merrick said shrugging a bit and reaching for Kitty. His hands coming toward her made her cringe a bit as she held close to Josh. "Come on sweetie. I'm not going to hurt ya. Just want to talk. Aren't we all here to have a good time?"
Though Kitty would not usually be this close to one of her friends, she felt safer knowing that Josh was there and hoped that he would go along with whatever was said. "Sorry Merrick. I didn't get the chance to tell you I had lost my boyfriend. Luckily he has caught up with me." Kitty said giving Josh a smile and trying to turn to walk away from Merrick but maintaining contact with Josh the entire time.

Hypnotic eyes? Kitty, this guy is nuts! Stop swooning over his features. Josh suppressed a snort, then realized what she meant. A mutant?
Making sure he kept himself between Kitty and "Merrick", he put his arm around her. "Sorry, man. We've gotta run - the tequila shots are waiting!!" He stumbles suitably to match. The two of them start to walk away.
Merrick growls and lunges for them. "Shit! Let's get out of here, Kitty!" Josh grabs her hand and begins shoving through the crowd, which is reluctant to part for him. "Dammit people, move!" Josh looks back - at least the guy's having problems getting through, too.
"If we can lose him in the crowd we should be all clear. He's gotta be high on something.... right?" Josh shoves through a mosh.
<This room is huge - if we can get out of his sight for a couple seconds, there's no way he'll find us again. On the other hand... I hope you've been practicing in the Danger Room, Kitts. We might have to knock this bastard out.> He bites a lip. Warren, where are you?

Kitty held fast to Josh as they began to move through the crowd. A sense of panic welled up in her as she knew things would get ugly if Merrick caught up with them. There was something different about him, and she didn't think it was just his eyes. He seemed half crazed more than anything.
Holding tight to Josh's hand she looked at his face. "Get ready Josh I'm going to phase up a bit deeper in the crowd. Hopefully we can loose him that way." This would be their best bet. Though she tried not to use her powers out like this, this was becoming an emergency.
Grabbing his hand a bit tighter she phased them out and right through a group of people who seemed to not want to move anyway. As she ran pushing her way through people and objects she turned to see Merrick who had resorted to throwing people out of his way and shouting obscenities at Josh and Kitty.
"Josh, he's catching up even with my phasing us through the crowd. Which way should we go? From where we are I'm turned around. I don't know where anything is." Kitty said as they stopped in the middle of a group of people. She looked to Josh to figure out what they should do. With so many tall people Kitty was a bit lost. This was when being short was a disadvantage.
She had a ominous feeling that there was going to be a fight. At least Josh had gotten her away from the madman. She would have to remember to thank him later.

Josh takes a deep breath as he and Kitty started phasing through crowd members. He knows how her powers work - they'd worked together in the Danger Room before. He had this horrible fear of becoming tangible while still inside something, though. Has she ever done that before? He shudders.
"Let's head toward the back - there are a bunch of rooms over there we could get him lost in!" Josh shouts. A glance over the shoulder - he's still gaining.
"What's this guys problem?" The two of them get to the edge of the crowd and start phasing through the rooms.
Dear god. If Josh had some idea before this of what was going on back here, he's just had a "TMI" moment.
"Sorry... ah... gang." They phase through a group of people obviously focused on the person tied to the wall.
They two of them reach a hallway, and stop. "Okay. I think..." Josh concentrates, "that he's still heading in our direction. I say we make a stand, and enjoy the rest of the party. What do you think?" He gives a lopsided smile. "Er... you ok? Sorry about this." He edges an eye around the corner back towards the main room.

Kitty looked at Josh. Now that they had stopped she was a bit out of breathe but knew what he said was their best bet. "I think you may be right. I can't think of anywhere else we can go to get rid of this psycho. But we'll have to be careful. I don't think his eyes are the only thing about him. The was he was throwing people around to get to us was a bit odd. We don't need to get ourselves killed here thats for sure."
She turned taking up a bit of the hallway as she prepared for Merrick to come around the corner. She wasn't quite sure how much of a chance she had physically, but hopefully they two of them together would get somewhere. She lucky she was wearing clothing that she could actually move in. Thinking back to what she almost wore, she realized that she had made the right choice. "Okay Josh. I guess this is a good a time as any."
Merrick came around the corner his eyes setting on them both. You could tell by the look of anger on his face that he was ready to either kill someone, or at least seriously hurt. Looking first to the boy who seemed a bit easy he them glance at Kitty trying to catch her eye. "Here Kitty Kitty. Come over here and play. I'm not going to hurt you....much."

Josh rolls his eyes at the "Here, Kitty Kitty" and puts his hands up into a defensive position. "You know, I'd really prefer not hurting you. But sometimes we can't get what we want, you know?" Josh shrugs his shoulders.
Merrick skulks around the corner. This guy is seriously creepy. He lunges, and Josh catches him in a telekinetic grip.
"What? What the... hey!" he cries out. "Put me down, freak." He thrashes around.
"Only if you promise to go away..." Josh smiles, but accidentally looks into the other man's eyes. Shit. His eyes widen, and he freezes into place. Merrick drops to the ground with a thud, and gets up, cursing.
<Kitty... ah....> Josh tries to back away, but can't move a muscle.
